Honey Honey

"Honey Honey" Is a band, and a song. Several songs, really. At least. Maybe a dozen? I should look. At anyrate, it was the band (and the song below) that started me on this post. Enjoy.

Honeyhoney is a duet from Venice California. Well, they live in Venice. Suzanne Santo is from Ohio, and Ben Jaffe is from New York. They make clever, interesting music that is all over the board in terms of influences. I heard this on the television tonight, and had to find it. So I did.

Honeyhoney - "Little Toy Gun"

They want you to go to their MySpace site (which you are welcome to do), but homey don't play dat. They've disallowed youtube embedding, so you'll have to go there to see it - click the link.

Abba - "Honey Honey"

Oddly enough, they've disallowed embedding, too. Go figure. It's been govered a brazilian times, and as much as I like covers, I still won't post one tonight.

Leslie Fiest, on the other hand, wants you to see her video:

Feist - "Honey Honey"

Finally, it's not really honey, honey, but it is "Sugar Sugar," and it's a very funny video:

The Archies - "Sugar, Sugar"

Here are the above "Honey Honeys", along with two extras. Charlie Grace and the Wildcats are great, Kelly Chen is not my cuppa tea. Am I wrong?

And just because all the honey and sugar has left a taste in my mouth:

The Smiths - "Bigmouth Strikes Again"

"Sweetness, I was only joking..."

If it's honey it can't be bad. :D
I'll listen to it this evening on my computer. Thanks for the share. And yay for ABBA.

Nerak 20. November 2008, 07:10

ABBA! w00t! I was listening to their greatest hits earlier!

Awesome post filled with killer tunage. :D

noah counte 20. November 2008, 13:11

I really enjoy that Honeyhoney song. I'm going to have to run down the whole disk.

Nerak 20. November 2008, 14:06

qlue 20. November 2008, 15:12

"This video is not available in you country!" :yikes: Just give me the youtube user name please so that I can try to prove them wrong.

Nerak 20. November 2008, 15:25

How flippin' rude! :irked:

qlue 20. November 2008, 15:26

Is it the video with the Goth girl that cuts to scene from a 1920's style cowboy movie for the first link?

Nerak 20. November 2008, 15:35

Uh, no...not that I'm aware of. :left:

qlue 20. November 2008, 15:41

Nerak 20. November 2008, 16:12

Hells yes, they do! I loves me some ABBA!!!

noah counte 20. November 2008, 22:30

I think you've got it, Qlue. The cowboy is Kieffer Sutherland.

Nerak 20. November 2008, 22:37

...:faint:

noah counte 20. November 2008, 22:40

The Honeyhoney video, "Little Toy Gun?" He's the guy in the card game who pulls a gun on her.

Nerak 20. November 2008, 22:58

Oooooh. Okay. Slow on the up-take. :left:

noah counte 21. November 2008, 00:03

qlue 21. November 2008, 07:23

Like I said, there's no such thing as "not available!" :headbang: .
On VuClip I found over ten examples of the same video. Some were just a few seconds longer or shorter but still the same video. .
Imagine what those hacker geniuses could do :left:

noah counte 21. November 2008, 12:58

I hada work around, but youtube closed it. There are still a ton of proxy sites, but I don't know if they work for phones.

I saw a list of proxy sites by country, somewhere. I'll have to look for that.

Nerak 21. November 2008, 18:10

My tailbone hurts today. :frown: I broke it like 5 years ago...it's acting up today.

Just had to whine somewhere.

Aren't you lucky?! :D

noah counte 21. November 2008, 18:48

ActiveOn!

Tiger Balm.

Nerak 21. November 2008, 18:49

I have Stop Pain roll-on. That stuff is like liquid fire.

It hurts so good. :o:

noah counte 21. November 2008, 18:51

Ah, good. Help for the arthritis?

Nerak 21. November 2008, 18:52

It burns so much it takes your mind off the arthritis. So yeah!

noah counte 21. November 2008, 19:41

lol Time for a liberal a-ss-pplication

Nerak 21. November 2008, 22:54

 Yay!

noah counte 22. November 2008, 01:15

Or a sitz bath...

Nerak 22. November 2008, 01:19

That actually sounds lovely right now. :frown: By boney tail is hurtin'!

noah counte 22. November 2008, 01:23

you have a donut?

daxonmacs 22. November 2008, 01:33

Food, again.

noah counte 22. November 2008, 01:37

Hahah. Indeed, but I meant one of those inflatable things people with tailbone (and hemmeroid) problems sit on to relieve the pressure.

daxonmacs 22. November 2008, 01:41

Right.
got images of chocolat and jelly buns instead. :D

noah counte 22. November 2008, 01:52

Tina bought a chocolate bar with peanuts in it today. It came with it's own worm, as well. Not at all appetizing!

daxonmacs 22. November 2008, 01:58

A worrm?

:yikes:

noah counte 22. November 2008, 02:07

That's what she said.

I'm guessing it came in with the peanuts - it was like those that you find in whole grains or flour if they sit around too long.

daxonmacs 22. November 2008, 02:11

Proteines. :yuck:

Nerak 22. November 2008, 04:30

No, I do not own an ass donut. I should buy one, though. But damn...talk about feelin' old. I mean, first an ass donut, then a booster seat for the toilet!

DBabbit 22. November 2008, 08:23

ABBA rocks - Love that group.

Karin, I use that stop pain roll on for my arthritis - It isn't supposed to burn. Did you pick one up that has capsaicin in it? And Matt, it works.

edwardpiercy 22. November 2008, 22:34

I thought that was Keifer! But then I said, "Nah, couldn't be!"

I liked the song. She certainly has an unusual way of dancing. Not that I'm an expert.

Ah, ABBA. Is it from another world? Yes, it's from the 70s!

Strangely enough, I was just looking up Agnetha Faltskog the other day, sort of a "Where Are They Now" kind of thing. My sister told me that she heard from somebody that one of the female ABBA members had played Mary Magdalen in some production of Jesus Christ Superstar. To the best info I was able to get, this isn't true.

Nerak 23. November 2008, 01:07

Babs - I have no idea what it has in it...other than liquid fire!

Lonnie rubbed some Tiger Balm on my shoulders/neck last night. I'm so in love with that stuff...but you MUST wear gloves when using that crapola. Whew...that smell will sick in your fingers for days! :eyes:

noah counte 23. November 2008, 04:22

In 1972, Fältskog starred as Mary Magdalene in the original Swedish production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, providing vocals for its original Swedish cast recording. Her relationship with Björn Ulvaeus, as well as her friendship with Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson, eventually led into the formation of ABBA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnetha_F%C3%A4ltskog

Here's some footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-ZcX8UuKwc

Stink finger? Hmmmmmmmm!

daxonmacs 23. November 2008, 05:53

More like a torch I think :D

edwardpiercy 23. November 2008, 06:09

I went through that wiki article. I guess I just missed it. That's not like me. Must be all that crack I've been smokin.

In any case, thanks for the correction!

daxonmacs 23. November 2008, 06:23

In case you didn't know, crack is crap.
No need to pay for it. p:

noah counte 23. November 2008, 15:24

Crack HURTS your memory? I thought I remembered someone telling me that it as GOOD for my memory. That explains a lot...

From your first comment, I thought you meant she was currently plying the role - so I didn't know if this was something you'd already seen.

qlue 25. November 2008, 02:59

Mary, Mary quite contrary....
I played this song for my friends baby daughter. His wife asked me about it so I told her it was ABBA. She then asked, "What's ABBA?".
There younguns today know nada about good music or good musicians. awww

Quinnuendo 27. November 2008, 17:27

Some nice stuff as usual.

I know who ABBA were  I have a lot of stuff, some even on LPs from my dad.

Anyway now I see you have a smokey avatar Matt? It's kinda cool

noah counte 28. November 2008, 02:02

Karen set me up, Donny - it was just waiting for me in my PMs when I woke up this morning! Cool, eh? I'm glad you found something to enjoy!

noah counte 29. November 2008, 00:42

DBabbit 29. November 2008, 05:11

@Matt - Smokin'! That's cool. Good job, Karen! BTW, I've got tiger balm and I use it when I remember it. There must be a different arthritis rub/ointment/gel in every room of my house.
