Playlist

Here's a big chunk of what I've been listening to this evening. I couldn't find it all, so this is all you get. ![]()
I don't see any errors in the list (misattributions or misspellings, etc.) and it's late, so I'm just going to leave it without belaboring the artists. If you like 'em, buy 'em - they'll appreciate it.
For the most part, that's pretty sweet stuff. I was also listening to Amanda Palmer, specifically "Leeds United", which I (inexplicably) cannot find in Seeqpod and which is definately less sweet that the stuff above. Mel pointed me to it in the youtubes though, and now I'm sharing it with you.
I know you phonies aren't going to be able to enjoy all the Seeqpod goodness, but you can enjoy the video here.

(sorry. went retrograde 80s for a minute there).
But I do love that song.

Yes, I'm working a girlcrush here. Shhh...

The only songs I really didn't care for were the French ones...but you probably saw that one coming.

Karen, the Amylie song makes me wish I spoke French. What is weird about so much of that song list is that there are artists from both coasts of the US, France, Germany, and probably elsewhere, and half a dozen of them could sing the songs of any other half dozen. I wasn't trying to do that when I made the playlist, but it was an interesting effect, I think. Anyway, I'm glad you (and Lonnie) found something enjoyable in there.
Amylie, incidentally, is from Montreal, Canada. She's not from France, she just speaks it.

Dobacaracol -- sounds like one of my medications. Not recommended for women who are nursing or pregnant or who may become pregnant. May cause birth defects in lemurs. Consult your physician before taking Dobacaracol in conjuntion with middle eastern opiates.
Lenka -- sounds almost exactly like Regina Spektor.
The Ditty Bops song -- good driving down the highway music!
"Salement Romantic" -- really liked that one.
"Sunday" -- liked that one even more.
"No more" -- and just how is that a bad thing? Please explain!
"Go Mr. Sunshine" -- also really liked that one.
And finally, MUST those French people sing in their own language? I mean, c'mon...
-- THANK YOU, MATT --

My suspicion is that most medications mix poorly with self-administered middle-eastern opiates. Don't consider mine a medical opinion.
Lenka does indeed sound a great deal like Regina Spektor, but I don't find that to be a bad thing.
The Ditty Bops rock. Sort of... you know, without really rocking... Their studio stuff is great fun, but most of what I've found online is live, and it's frequently difficult to hear the m over the crowd noise.
You can find Coeur de Pirate on the MySpace as well as on the Youtubes. I'm not a big fan of the MySpace, so I'm not sending you there. If you choose to go, leave breadcrumbs - it's a soul-sucking black hole.
Sia was in Zero 7, which I liked immensely. She's Aussie, though she looks Swedish, both of which I also like immensely. Christina Aguilera chose Sia to write with her for her new album, and is taken with the collaboration thus far. She's also part of The Bird and The Bee. Plus, she has a real website.
Remi Nicole is happy not to fit in the box the industry wants to put her in, and I love that. She likes "Rock N Roll".
