It´s never too late to live in the present

Rain

,

Trapped at Elsinore Train Station by the rain.

It was quite a meditation to watch it go on and on

The sound was very special because most of the platforms are sheltered by metal sheet roofs!

Extremely nice series

PainterWoman 14. August 2009, 01:11

Yes, really a nice series. Especially like that second one with those black and white things. You could make an abstract/minimalist painting out of that.

It must have been very loud on the metal roofs.

gdare 14. August 2009, 04:37

A lot of water, from above and from a billboard :D

nopanic 14. August 2009, 09:22

@ Stardancer
Thankyou Star

If you love rain, you should practise raindance :D

@ Carol
Hi Carol. Thanks

@ Allan
Thanks Allan. You must have had your share of rain or?..

nopanic 14. August 2009, 09:26

@ Pamela
Hehe I´m in a minimalist mood at the moment. Life is simple and beautiful, right now. I feel very content

nopanic 14. August 2009, 09:27

@ Darko
AAhh!! You saw the water connection :hat: Fine observation Darko  :D

Dacotah 14. August 2009, 11:40

Hi Nic, you are welcome.

RuneSB 14. August 2009, 11:46

Ja, det var sgu lidt af en bye :D Goe fotos :sherlock:

studio41 14. August 2009, 14:40

really like that number one for some reason... and number three... and... Nic, do you think if you got yourself a green number like the child, you would not have been "Trapped at Elsinore Train Station"? sounds like you would have chosen to stay anyway... sounds like a nice break.

nopanic 14. August 2009, 15:46

@ Rune
Ja, meget intens, men heldigvis ikke så langvarig  Tak

@ Jill
To tell you the truth Jill. I both had an umbrella and a raincoat stashed in my back pack p: But I let myself trap there. And you´re right. I needed the brake

SittingFox 14. August 2009, 19:08

That last pic is great - love the speedy blur! :D

I_ArtMan 14. August 2009, 21:21

yeah, me too... the green and the speed and the wetness... tells a whole story. i'm a rainophile myself (not in dictionary) doing a raindance right now. i can't remember when it rained last in los angeles, it was so long ago.

in washington state it rained all day long for six months and now i would give anything for just one of those days.

momable 15. August 2009, 00:19

Lovely!
Why wasn't the train running? Just rain wouldn't stop a train, would it?

I like how you don't get flustered, just take out your camera and shoot, enjoying the sounds and sights and showing some of people's train-life that you have captured to us.

Last year it rained here straight day and night for a week and the vast majority of our town flooded!

Some buildings are still not lived in as insurance is giving people a bad time.

studio41 15. August 2009, 04:16

nopanic 15. August 2009, 05:09

@ Adele
Thanks Adele. It´s such an old trick, but sometimes it works p: I was happy when I saw the primary colours represented, almost after strength. Red, yellow and blue are there, almost in pure form and they make the only secondary colour: Green , live so much

nopanic 15. August 2009, 05:19

@ Scott
Glad you like "the story" Scott. Rain has a great graphic effect. A lot of lines and a sensitive grey scale, which make even concrete look interesting and sometimes exotic
The rain is also a purifier in my country. After the rain the air is so clean. Everything smells fresh and the colours are bright  I understand if you live in a dry area you long for some rain :D

nopanic 15. August 2009, 05:38

@ Elly
But the trains were running Elly..several came and went, while I was sitting there. The only thing that "trapped" me was the weather, not the trains not running :D

The weather rythem is perfect now. It´s clear at day and it rains heavily at night

Earlier in my life my inside has been like a volcano always bubbling magma in there of activity and restlessness but recently a wonderful calmness has taken place. I enjoy every second of it. Waiting for a train or a bus or just sitting still if i feel like it is so great. Sometime I can walk down the street and suddenly feel...there´s a picture here..somewhere. Then I stop and observe..sometimes for a very long time..and then all of a sudden: There it is *click*
The essence of it, I think, is the ability to be present, here and now, in my life. I´m not behind or ahead of myself anymore. That´s nice

Flooding has begun to be a problem in Denmark too. The various low lying sectors of my country are making costly arrangements in order to meet the problem. I´m lucky because my hometown stands on a big hill. The water always run from the top and down to the harbour. When the sewers can´t cope with the mength of water the water runs like a river down the streets. The kids love it and the grown ups are frightened :eyes:
I just go out an take a picture of it p:

redjava 15. August 2009, 17:06

sweet... love the atmosphere

nopanic 15. August 2009, 17:10

Thanks Kora. I love my fellow countrymen, they are used to bad and everchanging weather. They always have a book to read or a camera to fool around with while waiting for a pause between showers

momable 16. August 2009, 03:15

How wonderful you can observe any time and any where! Congratulations on "catching up with yourself"!!!

I understand about the water situation.

I_ArtMan 16. August 2009, 04:46

"The essence of it, I think, is the ability to be present, here and now, in my life. I´m not behind or ahead of myself anymore. That´s nice,"

you got it nic, you finally got it. presence. here and now. that's life at its best. awareness of 'me here... now', not dreaming about the past or dreaming about the future.
well said.

nopanic 16. August 2009, 08:31

@ Elly

@ Scott
Yes..and it´s not a wish anymore..it´s a fact, right now

Cynthia23 18. August 2009, 15:47

In all its complex simplicity, wonderful, Nic!

nopanic 18. August 2009, 18:50

@ Cynthia
complex simplicity, I like that. Thanks Cynth

act2bmp 26. October 2009, 03:31

Simple sounds man,,,,it reminds me of the times I lived in a caravan I always thought it was the best sound to sleep on without getting wet!

nopanic 26. October 2009, 15:48

Yes. Very calming indeed.

act2bmp 26. October 2009, 16:55

I don't have a caravan anymore but I had 28 years of it with my Grandparents. Happy days

nopanic 26. October 2009, 19:44
