nopanic 23. October 2009, 21:46

I look forward to the 21. of december. The shortest day of the year. I always celebrate when we turn that corner. After that the days gets longer and longer :hat:

I_ArtMan 23. October 2009, 22:15

me too. when we turn that corner.... every day will be longer. i like that. i can't imagine how people can live in 'the land of the midnight sun' to go for weeks without sunlight... impossible.

nopanic 24. October 2009, 06:51

@ Scott
Me niether. It´s pretty dark in winter here too. I wish I could sleep like a bear through the dark months

@ Carol
Cute avatar Carol

@ San
Thanks San. Might be the only I take this year. The winds are powerful now. The leaves are ready to leave and be blown off.

@ Star
Thanks Star

Dacotah 24. October 2009, 06:59

Hi Nic, thank you.

nopanic 24. October 2009, 07:09

Yw

sanshan 24. October 2009, 07:12

Oh! It was so windy here tonight too. I went for a walk on the seawall and the waves were crashing overtop. Lovely though.

Fall is my favorite season, but I tell you I am sure the best autumn colours are in Quebec, so amazing.

nopanic 24. October 2009, 07:40

Oh yes San. That sounds wonderful. I like weather like that. Nature is shouting back :D And your face and your body is provoked all the time

Fall used to be my favorite season too. Because of the coloures ofcource. But as I grow older the high summer is really appealing to me. Sharp light. Intense heat. Reflexions.
Sitting on a stone and feel the warmth go all the way to your bones. Mmmhh

I can imagine Quebec being incredibly spectacluar during fall

sanshan 24. October 2009, 07:58

Fall does not last long in Quebec though, and winter is severe.

I felt so alive walking along the sea tonight. I had to run a few times to avoid the waves crashing and splashing. It was so much fun.

But seriously, as my joints age, summer is the ideal season. You're right, the warmth goes all the way to your bones.

nopanic 24. October 2009, 08:05

The short lasting makes it even more precious, no?!

I like that too. Always to the edge at things

we´re becoming reptiles. We need the sun all the time

sanshan 24. October 2009, 08:28

very true! But I like to think I'm more of a cat. We are warm blooded and always like to be in the sun. :cat:

nopanic 24. October 2009, 08:36

Oh yes. Cat´s are incredible in that direction. Always finding a sunstrip, ready to boil :eyes: Man, they get hot sometimes!! You almost burn your hand when you touch the fur.

The sunlight really makes MY engine go
In the winter I have to do yoga in the morning to get energy.
In the summer I just go out on the balcony and get some sun. After a while energy comes rushing in

sanshan 24. October 2009, 08:42

Oh! I have been doing Bikram yoga (hot yoga). The room is heated to 35-40 degrees. At first it is stifling, but now I really love it. Makes my fur really glossy!

nopanic 24. October 2009, 08:44

:eyes:

SittingFox 24. October 2009, 09:15

Yes, the nights are getting longer but the stars are getting brighter

nopanic 24. October 2009, 09:18

That´s right Adele. I´ve had some very beautiful homegoing trips after visiting friends at night, very calming

But I still miss summer though :D

Dacotah 24. October 2009, 14:39

:D

angel292005 24. October 2009, 21:20

Who else but Nic can post a pic of a tree and all the conversation after is totally meaningful?

nopanic 24. October 2009, 22:42

@ Carol

@ Sarah
Aww Sarah thankyou
The importance of trees I learned from the indians in the jungle in Ecuador. They had tiny farms in bare spots in there. I found my way around by using dried out riverbeds as markers but sometimes that meant great detours before finding where you´re supposed to go. They taught me to really recognise trees. No trees are alike. And suddenly, the trees became individuals, like persons and after some time I could find my ways around at the shortest distances between the farms. Saves time and energy in the humid heat!
The simplest things can have the utmost importance

Dacotah 25. October 2009, 01:21

Nic you have a nice happy face.

nopanic 25. October 2009, 09:12

nopanic 25. October 2009, 13:29

I´m fine but exrtremely busy.
Trying to get to draw a little, while the laundry is piling up and the dust flyes like tumbleweed in my appartment :left:

Dacotah 25. October 2009, 13:58

I'm glad to hear you are fine.
Hope to see your drawing.

Nic, I share your love for trees. I was raised to believe they feel pain but it doesn't stop me from using paper. p:

Trees provide us with many good things. I´m not against that, Sarah
