Amen

nopanic 5. November 2008, 04:54

I see a lot of europeans being happy too.

sanshan 5. November 2008, 05:06

I hope so. Some people say he's not the best choice for Canada though, being so protectionist, like Clinton. But it does give me some hope. He's got a tough job ahead of him for sure.

nopanic 5. November 2008, 05:07

He sure does. That´s all we can do San...hope

sanshan 5. November 2008, 05:33

What an inspiring speech he gave! Did you hear it?

gdare 5. November 2008, 05:38

As I mentioned in Angeliki`s post, not much difference for us. McCain or Obama, State Department will not change its policy toward us. We will see...

RuneSB 5. November 2008, 06:27

I agree Nicolas, he's really got he's work cut out for him :eyes:
(he's overtaking the biggest deficit in US history)

ricewood 5. November 2008, 07:23

He's got a huge job ahead of him. We have! The world in cooperation.

clean 5. November 2008, 07:41

It was a good speech! Gotta say, though ... McCain was gracious in defeat.

nopanic 5. November 2008, 07:46

@ San
Yes San and I´m not easily moved, but this time I was. He seemed to fully mean what he said.
In stead of testing him, I hope the world will help and support him!

@ Darko
You´re right Darko. We can´t just sit back. Democracy is hard work.

@ Rune
Yes, thank God he´s got a good network and professional and skilled supporters

@ Allan
That´s the spirit Allan. I second that. We all do our share.

DBabbit 5. November 2008, 08:04

I am so glad he won. Now maybe we can get this country back in order. It's been so out of sync since BushCo. took over that it's unreal.

We have to have hope - the pollsters were saying people were voting today that hadn't voted in over 20 years.

nopanic 5. November 2008, 12:18

@ Babs
It´s so good you feel that way. Your wonderful country deserves a good leader. In bad times we really learn how to appreciate democracy.

wickedlizard 5. November 2008, 14:42

Amen!!! :hat:

nopanic 5. November 2008, 14:46

sanshan 5. November 2008, 17:49

Let's not put all our trust in one man though. He's not the leader of my country, and might I say my favorite country! I don't know if people realize how hard it is being the U.S's closest neighbour. They don't exactly invite us over for tea and scones every day. And I would guess that 90% of Americans don't even know who our leader is.

nopanic 5. November 2008, 18:09

That´s how we feel about the Germans sometimes.

sanshan 5. November 2008, 18:10

nopanic 5. November 2008, 18:20

Our problems is that our population is not bigger than the one of a major city in any other larger country than Denmark

sanshan 5. November 2008, 18:45

Similar here. Our population is that of Mexico City, but our land mass is the second largest in the world. (Yes we are larger than the U.S.!) So, it's really hard to find people here, so much space!

nopanic 5. November 2008, 19:12

Allow me to say. I´ve never been to Canada except for a short stop in Gandor Air base, many years ago. But Yours and Adeles descriptions plus what I´ve surfed down on the net shows me that..naturewise your country must be the most beautiful country in the world. I would love to hike in your country!!!

SittingFox 5. November 2008, 20:28

A heavy load indeed...best wishes to him

Re: Canada, Nunavut (in the North) is the size of western Europe and has a population of about 30,000 people. You fly over it for hours and there's just lakes, tundra, lakes, more lakes...

gdare 5. November 2008, 20:49

:faint: One suburb in Belgrade has more than 30,000 people. It seems we could all immigrate there and it could be hard to notice a change

SittingFox 5. November 2008, 21:13

Probably, but the fact that the climate in the North is a tad harsh with temperatures that hit -60C possibly has something to do with the lack of cities  Heh, it's -19C as we write!

gdare 5. November 2008, 21:21

I will have to wear appropriate clothes

Mickeyjoe_irl 5. November 2008, 22:27

Thomas an I were just talking about living in isolation, have a look at this.

momable 6. November 2008, 00:26

I voted for him.

Let's all hope for betterment for all the world.

nopanic 6. November 2008, 05:01

I really must see Canada. Nice and quiet there

Yeah, hope is all we can do Elly

ellinidata 6. November 2008, 12:39

do I fee some love coming from the other side of the Ocean ???
thanks my European friends for all your support
Americans needed to feel loved again...

nopanic 6. November 2008, 13:09

You´re welcome

DBabbit 7. November 2008, 08:22

If he'd have lost, I was seriously considering Canada as my new home. I know of several that felt the same way. The entire population of the county I live in could move to Canada, and you'd never know it. At last count, there was 60,000.

nopanic 7. November 2008, 11:07

 :D

ellinidata 9. November 2008, 21:23

I see a lot of europeans being happy too

Sadly this European remembers the euphoria that greeted the massive landslide ushering in the Socialist government in Britain. Sadly they proved to be as bad (every bit as bad when not worse) as the Tory government they ousted.

Now he is known as Tory B Liar. He was often referred to as the chimp's sock puppet.

What tends to happen in an election is that a politician gains power over man and beast not just in the country he was elected but to have repurcussions in other countries too.

Effects the home country finds itself excluded from monitoring.

nopanic 18. November 2008, 22:08

It remains to be seen. I just can´t imagine Obama being as bad as Bush. :left:

SqueakeyCat 8. December 2008, 01:24

he is definitely going to be needing the help of GOD when he gets to the White House

Weatherlawyer 8. December 2008, 01:31

Nobody can see anybody being as bad as Bush.

He has to be the most stupid man in all human history to rule a powerful government since Pharoh refused to let the Hebrews go.

Funny thing is that all the wheels came off his cart a long time ago. Not that I beliee IEDs are acts of god.

nopanic 8. December 2008, 12:52

@ Kimberly & Weatherlawyer
Amen to that guys

Weatherlawyer 8. December 2008, 15:22

The first thing he has to do when he gets into The White House is clean the monkey czjd off the chandeliers.

Everything else will be easy after that.

nopanic 8. December 2008, 15:26

SqueakeyCat 9. December 2008, 03:08

he needs to clean out the BUSHES (pun intended) too...lmao

nopanic 9. December 2008, 10:50

 The new world gardener

SqueakeyCat 9. December 2008, 22:08
