Did she walk on it?

nopanic 7. August 2009, 13:27

Yes. The act was pretending that she lives her whole life on the string. Cooking, undressing, watching TV etc etc and she mimes it all on the string. she even managed to lie down, pretending to sleep.

That sounds cool. I'd like to have watched her show. Interesting photo, though.

PainterWoman 7. August 2009, 16:21

Cool photo. I like how her black top becomes one with the trees and how the rope goes off either side of the picture as if nothing is really holding her....

I would have loved to watch her show too.

ellinidata 7. August 2009, 17:20

nice! and she sure has the attention of the crowd!

nopanic 7. August 2009, 19:27

@ Allan
She´s swedish. She might come to Aarhus one day, who knows. It was a good long show,,almost half an hour. That´s a long time spent on the line!

@ Pamela
I had to be tough in the cutting of the photo. The sun was low and the light was pouring in from many sides due to a lot of windows around the square reflecting the intense sunlight. When I moved the reflexes with the help of a photo managing programme, it didn´t look right, so I removed the reflexes in the cutting. I see now that I should have cut of the buildings of in the top of the picture, in order to underline the melting together between the trees and the person...yes, that I will do later!

@ Angeliki
Yes. Especially from the kids :D It was very moving afterwards. She said This is my life and my living. This is all I do! People gave a lot of money in the bag she held out towards the crowd

:D

ricewood 7. August 2009, 20:52

Well, Nicolas - Aarhus is two more bridges to cross....

nopanic 7. August 2009, 21:06

Well..she looked like a traveller Allan  A real circus girl

nopanic 7. August 2009, 21:08

Just cut the buildings away..like it better now!

Stardancer 7. August 2009, 22:42

Most of the time, I feel as though my life is a balancing act, too. Not so literally as this girl's, but just as much an effort at not falling off the string.

It's amazing that she has mastered the art to such an extent. What an inspiration.

Thanks for sharing, Nic.

Great photo.

nopanic 8. August 2009, 07:14

@ Jill
Thanks Jill

@ Cynthia
I´m glad you think so Cynth. The pic is taken while sitting on the line resting for a few seconds, before she jumped down and started to talk to us. I wanted that moment of privacy in the pic

@ Adele
I hunt them down Adele p: Where ever they are..I´ll find them :sherlock: Sometimes I just look for rooms and places that "talks" to me

SittingFox 8. August 2009, 07:26

b_laudanum 10. August 2009, 12:40

I love street artists!!

nopanic 10. August 2009, 19:54

So do I. You can get very close to them without them being annoyed

b_laudanum 12. August 2009, 14:10

yes, and it's funny. I never tried to distract them but I saw many people before doing this. It's incredible how they're focused in that moment and nobody can annoy them.

nopanic 12. August 2009, 16:36

Exactly
