New bathroom sink

This is my old bathroom sink

I replaced it with this new minimalistic one. It´s the style in the bath room. simplicity:lol:

Had to use pipe parts from the old sink. But the whole thing came out, extremely cheap:up:

Taking a break

The weekend is coming to and end. Prepairing the pipes and radiator for painting is done. I´m very satisfied. Today sunday i´ll clean out there and not do anything about it before next weekend. The pic is of the radiator. A piece of art...don´t you think?!

Yepee!

The sliding door and the wall around it is finished

Seen from the sittingroom

Seen from the hall

Quite a story behind this project.
Some time ago, I found out how much space the doors in my tiny appartment (48 square metres) were "eating"...because you cant place anything in the "swing areas". SO I thought that I would make sliding doors in the appartment where it was possble. And it is all over except in the bath room. But until now I have to settle with this one...because I have a million other things to do (the bathroom  )
As I do everything as cheap as possible I found the doorframe in front of a house put out as trash. I got it for free and carried it home. I moved the fillings and mounted glass lists in the doorframe and put sandblown matted glass in the doorframe. That was expensive. I didn´t want see through glass in the door. because then you can look all through the appartment, and I dont want that. The construction is good. But I´m not satisfied with the finish. The doorblade needs a fullspartle and polish plus a very blank finish paint. The wall needs to be painted too, but that´ll have to wait, until I´ve finished the bathroom:)

Sliding door

Had to leave the restoring project in my bathroom. Next step in the bathroom would be grinding and polishing the raw cement walls. That makes a lot of dust. I´ll use my hall, which is the neighboring room to the bathroom, as a kind of dustroom, to change clothes from work clothes to ordinary clothes, when finished working in the afternoons.

The hall has to be absolutely tight, in order to keep the dust away from the kitchen and the sitting room. That means I have to put glass in the door frame of the sliding door to the sittingroom. In order to do THAT, I had to do some ajustments to the hollow wall which contains the sliding door. That´s been done!!!. Today I´ve painted lists to hold the glass in the door frame
Have to make it look as good as possible until my indian princess arrives :D

Moving on to the bathroom

My Appartment is becomming lesser of a mess..day by day. When I started restoring my bathroom..I was only fixing some holes in the walls, but ended up cement plastering all of the walls:eyes:

I dont mind the work, at all. But cleaning up the mess afterwards

Being an artist can be a problem, when you want to do practical things...everything takes too long because you see interesting patterns and structures in the cement...and at times forgetting what you´re doing

My new cooking hood

My friends...This is a giant victory. I´ve had this electrical cooking hood in my basement for allmost a year. When I bought it i started to prepare the mounting of it. But I found out that the electrical system in my flat was not prepared for such devise..so I gave up. Didn´t have the time, energy and attitude at that time to deal with it:D But now it is done. The thing is working:hat: Now I can repeat the whole electrical wirering in my sleep  The shelf, the hood is mounted under, is made of an old stable glued table plate I found in the cellar. I find many good things down there. The wooden curbs that carries the shelf is made out of the same plate
The whole thing is planned with an iron balance and painted with transparant lackage 5 times :eyes:Cooking is fine now:happy:

Reflections

Yesterday. I was preparing some canvases for future paintings. All of a sudden the angle from the the light made it strike the canvas which was placed on the easel and made the most beautiful figures of reflections and shadows on the white surface. I sat for an hour and watched the changes of patterns on the screen until the sun went behind the roofs on the other side of the street

New colours

You must crawl, before you can walk:) About a month ago I desided to take a break with the water colours. Of many reasons, I prefer water colour painting..BUT..The struggle with it has been too much lately. At the moment I need to paint faster...it has become a question of mood. I simply want things to happen faster. Water colours has it´s own tempo. You can´t speed up the process.
At least not in my way of painting!
SO! Now I´ve started trying acrylic painting. Tried it before

Painted this in ´87

The proces is hard because I have to make a complete colour circle with the newly bought acrylic colours. That means I have to mix the whole colour circle out of the three primary colours: red - yellow - blue. And then you go on mixing blue+red=violet, blue+yellow=green. red+yellow=orange and so on...

colour circle (not mine!!Stolen from the net)

This weekend, my good friend Rune (opera name RuneSB), will help me prepare a canvas or two!

I have had long talks with my colour dealer in Copenhagen. He has been a great help.
I look forward to be able to make paintings that doesn´t need glas in front of it, and being able to use colours wich haven´t got to be added in thousands and thousands of layers.
I want to paint more in less time. Hope it goes. wish me luck pals:D

Fever

Finally the flu really caught up with me. I tried to sleep it out this weekend. But did I succeed? NO WAY:irked: I went to bed freezing. But under the covers, heating up, my body started to jerk and get spasms. Tried to work it out instead. It seemed to have worked better. My body still feels beaten up, but I´ve got a lot of work done in my flat.
It´s a life long project, restoring my flat:D Most of the materials to use for the mending, I´m very reluctant to buy. I´ll rather find them in containers or in the basement. It takes ages to wait for the right stuff. But It´s funny to see how cheap you can get away with it:up: I have a lot of hand tools and machine tools, so its possible to create almost anything!! My wacuum cleaner for instance is made out of three old ones, of which none worked, before I blew them into atoms and assembled one good one that workes perfectly. My room in the basement is stuffed like a late pregnancy with spare parts and materials to anything one could think of. In the picture above, a metal angel is parted in two, because i needed two narrow ones:)

Weather

The sun is trying to fight its way back.
Watched it from the balcony.
Think the sun strip - my favorite spot -
has left the flat for this year.
