It´s never too late to live in the present

Why?

Why do some of the happiest moments occur when I´m doing absolutely nothing at all?!

I sat in Tivoli, an amusement park in Copenhagen, drinking a glass of red wine and I wondered why I was so damn happy?

I mean…there´s SO much to be unhappy about:

-My fiancée left me 4 month ago
-My son dropped out of a good and solid education
-My daughter got divorced
-I have to have hearing hearing aids on both ears soon. I´ve got tinnitus for good now
-For a period, recently, my work stressed me down
Etc. etc.

I sat there in Tivoli. In a bar with a glass of red wine. Watching people..beautiful people of all shapes, colours and sizes…..and I was happy. Feeling light and slightly dizzy and above all…
Free

Lately I´ve abandoned my whole survival programme:

-Forgetting to run
-Not doing my yoga
-Not doing my meditation..
And stll I feel energetic and fit!
Strange

Even painting has become fun and not the 10% Inspiration and 90% Transpiration as my father used to tell me

-A glass of wine
-A comfy chair
And the camera lying ready beside me, did the trick:
My body was totally calm and my eyes were hungry

Nothing like a massive amount of idleness to spark happiness. I know. Idleness is the reason for the best in life. Give us more.

I love these times when life should be so dismal, and all of a sudden, joy and contentment bubble up. Don't question it... They're one of the biggest perks of life. The element of surprise helps, I'm sure :D

@ Jill
This is a pic of the famous Brostræde is from Elsinore for ya

scott cumming 8. May 2009, 06:09

it's like the way a farmer lets his field 'lie fallow' so it regains it's nutritional values.

Nicolas Borgsmidt 8. May 2009, 06:10

Very well put Scott. Exactly. What you say is almost biblical

scott cumming 8. May 2009, 23:59

Nicolas Borgsmidt 9. May 2009, 06:16

Nah, ok, you sound pretty earthbound here

PainterWoman 11. May 2009, 18:06

It only took me 60 years. Well, I should say there have been many, many happy moments but it took many years to be content with what is. You were in the moment of life with these photos.

Especially love the pic of the old couple with the ice cream cones.

Nicolas Borgsmidt 11. May 2009, 18:49

Luckily I have had a lot of these moments recently, Pam.

The couple were so consentrated on their icecreams that they didn´t see me raise the camera :D

RuneSB 12. May 2009, 07:59

Great Nicolas, you deserve it absolutely !
:sherlock:

Nicolas Borgsmidt 12. May 2009, 09:20
