The little trotter

Our trotting horse Tryggvar did his third race yesterday. It was a long race and he had to go three laps around the track. He started slowly, but was in the lead during the second lap. Then he had a gallop and three other horses passed him. He also had a short gallop right at the end of the race but came in as number two. I'm so proud of this tiny little horse.

Interesting short post!
That little ponytail running down to his nose is funny.:D

With my pocket camera it is a little difficult to get good shots when the horses have full speed, so the photos are taken before the race. Yes, the horses do need to warm up. The ponytale makes it a little easier to put on all the stuff on the horses head. And I like to se more of Tryggvar's pretty face.

Slik en grom, god gutt ! Og han ser nå jamen meg ganske så oppvakt ut også, men mild og snill i blikket.
Håper at han innfrir alle forventninger.

Ha en fin tirsdagskveld!

He is very handsome!

I'm sure the experience was very good for him even if he did break stride.

Would have loved to have seen this. He looks very proud.

We used to have a trotter park many years ago and I went a few times. The horses are so beautiful.

Norfrid 6. October 2009, 18:53

Thank you all for comments! This horse actually looks more like a working horse than a trotter, but he moves so well. What I like the most about him is his self confidence. No nerves at all. New race next week.

Good Luck to him! will it be televised here in the US on a channel I get? p:

Ok I suppose that is asking a bit much...

When I had a big dish, I use to tune into 1w Thor & Intelsat and 5e Sirius for the paarden camera vans sending back to the studio. I loved the scenery and the clean feel of the Scandinavian countries..

In Norway Canal Digital broadcasts every single trottinghorse race, but we have to pay for it. It's nice to be able to see the race of our own horse when we get back home, especially if the horse did well.

See what he's like on the Trømso track in the depths of winter?
=o}

Norfrid 12. October 2009, 07:09

Tromsø is too far away. We're actually crazy going to races in winter anyway. But they usually manage to have good racing tracks even in winter.
Here is a trotting horse race in Harstad in april this year:
