Asterix 50 years

One of my favourite cartoons is Asterix and Obelix. Now it's 50 years since René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo made up the characters. I've read all the magazines that they made together. Unfortunately Goscinny died in 1977 only 51 years old. I don't think that the cartoon has the same quality when Uderzo started to give out new magazines by himself. Goscinny also was one of the persons that invented the cartoon figure Lucky Luke that I also have had great fun reading. Today I happened to find a brand new magazine of Asterix written by Goscinny and Uderzo that has been waiting to be released. Tonight I'll celebrate Asterix and Obelix anniversary by reading "The Gold Book".
Happy anniversary!

Tonight I also will celebrite the anniversary. I have all the magazines exept the "The Gold Book" (I envy you . . . ).
I agree that the magazines lost "something" after Coscinny died. He was the one with the idees.

When I was in my early teens, I found many hardcover Asterix the Gaul books at my uncle's home. Whenever we visited there, I would read them over and over again. The names made up for the characters were especially hilarious - and every adventure ended with a sumptuous feast.

Google had this on the day of the anniversary:

Thanks for having me! We have a mutual friends in Lois (CackleberryLane - and a native-born Canadian also) and Lindsay (Hermitess).

Thanks to the artists at Google for doing that one! They had a series recently on the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. Earlier they had others for Nicola Tesla and Mahatma Gandhi. Very clever these artists are. A nice way to pay tribute to famous people and other things. I usually keep an eye most every day for something new.
