Nintendo Power, in their latest issue, has unveiled a new WiiWare title: MegaMan 10.
It comes as no surprise given the mega-success the 'first' MegaMan iteration on the WiiWare platform had, but still, no one saw it coming right now.
Although not many details are given in the article, it does reveal that Capcom's newest take on MegaMan will be true to its roots with 8-bit-style graphics, Dr. Willy as the villain, and the usual MegaMan gameplay we've all come to love. It will also feature ProtoMan as a playable character and SheepMan as an opponent...yeah, SheepMan. o_O
This time you'll be fighting robots to assemble a vaccine-making machine to cure robots of Robotenza (yeah, they're joining the Influenza hype), a virus that causes machines to overheat and go boinkers.
A bit of news on the untitled-someday-to-be-released Wii Legend of Zelda. Eiji Aonuma spoke with IGN and gives us an idea of the games tone:
"With Twilight Princess, we challenged ourself to create the most vast and realistic world the series had ever seen, but we don't feel that we were able to fully complete this objective. With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii. - For any game to be remembered for a long time, just like Ocarina of Time was, the game must give the strong impression that it has set a new starting point for future sequels to build upon. We are working to further improve upon the experiences found in Twilight Princess so that our future games can realize these innovations."
What say you about this? Will the "new dungeon formula" and motion plus enhanced Wii Zelda still have a Twilight Princess heart?
Before we get into this I need to apologize, This thing for the third year has proven itself very difficult to manage. All prize costs are covered by the N+ managers. And because we like to join in on the costumes it gets hard for us to judge. This may be the last year we offer prizes, we may just have a "Costume Party" where we all share our costumes for fun. But enough of that, we got N+ Moderator Geoff to be the tie breaker vote this year, Espen from the Opera community team couldn't pick a clear winner, .Ed couldn't pick a clear winner, and because myself and Jayvee are in the competition we would not allow ourselves to judge! but thankfully Geoff after much decision making thought, gives us our placement...
3rd Place: Rosita Frita of Mexico as Princess Peach
2nd Place: Jayvee of the USA as Solid Snake (MGS4 style)
1st Place: Captain Seagull of the USA as Professor Layton
To see the gallery with all the cool photos of costumes in action: visit the gallery. Congratulations winners! Rosita and Jayvee need to send Captain Seagull a message acknowledging that they are winners.
Now, this is something you don't see everyday: a Wii-to-PS3/XBox360 port. Now, I know this is not exactly a Nintendo-related video, but it's No More Heroes... and what it could have been like should the Wii had supported HD graphics. Now, the HD-consoles version of the game will NOT take advantage of any existing (Six-Axis) or upcoming (Wand/Natal) motion technologies for these consoles, so Travis will be joystick-bound for this version... What do you guys think? Are graphics enough to warrant a better experience? Or the Wii version can still remain on top with better control schemes and 'softer' graphics?
There are no specific dates, there is no official announcement from Square Enix, there is no confirmation of any kind...so this is JUST a rumor, so far.
Someone snooped around the EU trademark database and came across trademark registration number 008724528 by Square Enix. This registration entry has trademarks for the phrase "Sentinels of the Starry Skies" in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German. Ring any bells? The title of the Japanese version of Dragon Quest IX is "Hoshizora no Mamorubito", which roughly translates to "Defenders of the Starry Sky".
While Square Enix has admitted in the past that they will localize the game at some point in the next fiscal year (to begin in April 2010), they may be waiting until after Final Fantasy XIII is out to make an official announcement.
Its-a my turn for a Banner update! And man, did this one take a LONG time. But I think it turned out great! Since Spirit Tracks comes out this Sunday and we have never had a Zelda banner, I figured I would go for a Zelda theme this month. Link is wearing his Christmas Tunic, and Zelda is giving Phantom Christmas gifts to everyone at N+
I kinda had to guess as to what the train looked like. I have no idea if thats really how it looks. And I reused the snow from the Animal Crossing picture from last year. Lazy move I know, but it works well in this situation too! Total time came to about 10 hours. Hope you all enjoy the banner and Happy Holidays!
WalMart wants your videogaming money, and it wants it badly. So, in time for the Holidays, the supermarket chain is offering a $50 gift card with the purchase of a $199 Wii. Yeah, that's 25% of your purchase. That's good.
From December 5th trhough 12th, WalMart stores nationwide are offering a $50 gift card if you purchase a Wii. Not content with giving you that, they are also knocking off $10 from several games' price tags until December 24th (List after the break).
According to LegendaryPokemon, next year's iteration of Pokémon Day would bring with it a chance to win a trip to New York City and visit the Nintendo World Store, all expenses covered and a few extra Euros for your leisure and Nintendo consumerism needs.
Nintendo of Europe, located in Germany, announced that they will be launching an idea competition for Pokémon Day 2010 in which participants can submit their ideas in the form of handcraft, video, picture, or drawing (pretty much any way you can present an idea). The winner will be awarded with a 4-person trip to New York City, from April 02 to 04 (2010, of course) with all expenses paid, a guided tour of the Nintendo World Store, and €250 for spending.
Pokémon fans had a chance to obtain a special Regigigas at this year's event, while this year they would be able to download a special Arceus.
Thought the Wii had seen it's fall already? Thought the DS/DSi duo would falter in anticipation of DS-XL? Think again. Nintendo just released their sales figures for the Thanksgiving week: they rock.
According to the staggering numbers, between November 22 and 28, Nintendo managed to sell 2.5 systems EVERY SECOND. That's right... every second. 550,000 Wiis were sold during that timeframe, and a million DS/DSi were moved into eager customer hands. Sales for the handhelds were said to surpass the all-time handheld sales record set by the GameBoy Advance during 2002's Thanksgiving week (although, to be fair, we're talking about two different DS models here...so it's kinda not fair...). And this was only in the US alone...
So, the Wii and the DS systems still have some more money-printing left to do.
Rejoice, Prince of Persia fans! Ubisoft has announced a new Prince of Persia titled 'Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands' to be released alongside the upcoming film in May 2010.
According to the announcement, the game will follow the storyline of the previous 'Sands of Time' trilogy. No further details were given or if it will be tied to the film in any way (let's hope not); as a matter of fact, there is a SLIGHT possibility that the title might not even make it to the Wii, for Ubisoft only said that the game is coming to both consoles and handhelds... that's it.
Our new title will be true to the Prince of Persia roots and should leverage the fantastic impact the movie is going to have on our franchise. - Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO
Happy Harvest Festival everyone! Today (and every US Thanksgiving day) Franklin visits your town for the Harvest Festival in Animal Crossing Wii. He is obviously very afraid of everyone in town, and Tortimer just cannot wait to meat him! Hurry-up and visit your town between 3:PM and 9:PM today to trade knives and forks you get from Tortimer, to Franklin for a piece of furniture out of the Harvest series. Of course to trade the items you need to find him first, and good luck cause he is tough.
