IGN Teases New Handheld Announcement

Generally, the IGN Nintendo team releases a weekly podcast called "Nintendo Voice Chat" every Monday, which features news, reviews, impressions, etc. This week, when the podcast wasn't released on schedule, IGN quickly put up a list of excuses. Their reasons?

Possible excuses: a rampaging Bowser, a zombie infestation, or an upcoming handheld announcement.


Over the course of the past two days, IGN has featured updates on Mario & Luigi RPG 3 and Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop, which take care of the first two excuses, but what about the third? An upcoming handheld announcement? Hmm, what do we know of that needs to be announced regarding handhelds?

IGN promises that their podcast will be released tomorrow, when they can "safely block out a recording session". Does that mean the announcement is coming tomorrow?

Just being the optimistic person that I usually am, I'm hoping for (and expecting) an announcement regarding the North American launch schedule for the DSi. Given the supposed April 4 release date, that doesn't seem too unlikely.
