Just a little nitpick: you have Contra III in both the "here" and "coming soon" lists. I know it's here, 'cause I got it.

thanks for that.

Case sensitive (http://my.opera.com/Nplus/blog/NAVC results in 404 Not Found)? Was not aware of that.

i'm suprised anyone can look at that list, and say that....

This may sound dumb, but what do you mean by saying R-Type is two games in one?

By thejesusegg, # 5. March 2007, 20:03:44

avatar
in Japan R-Type 1 and 2 were sold seperately 2 was a sequel to 1, in Europe and the US, they were both on one cartridge just sold as R-Type and people just thought it was an incredibly long game.

By DotEd, # 5. March 2007, 20:35:43

avatar
Thanks for the info. I never knew that about R-Type.

Those TG-16 games are bringing me back. I miss military madness the most for some reason- then again, all my PC games since then have been mostly turn-based strategy games.

That R-Type on TG-16 was dope.

By Eddie_Lopez, # 4. April 2007, 15:40:47

avatar
i too love turn based military strategy... Eddie, have you ever played Advance Wars for GBA or DS? my personal favorites, and truthfully, i think i've played everything in the genre.

Where are the rest of the GOOD games? DKC2, Sonic 2, Final Fantasy 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Splatterhouse 2 and 3
Yaaaargh!

By Wandering Mind, # 15. May 2007, 13:41:43

if they released all of your favorite games, or all of the "good" games right away, there would be little draw to check it after people got what they wanted... Nintendo is a business. They need to ensure their position in the market is strong and continues to build anticipation with a steady flow of revenue rather than having a bunch of stuff released and then have people lose interest in the later offerings. you would have people saying "remember when they used to release 'good' games on the virtual console when it first came out? now it sucks."

pick your poison, the only difference is the way Nintendo is doing it ensures future profitability and means they'll be around to keep us happy longer... the better option in my opinion.

By DotEd, # 15. May 2007, 14:07:38

avatar
Yeah I'd like Final Fantasy III myself, but many of the enplussers know that already :D. The FF4 (2 in US) remake for the DS looks tasty, and their announcement about DS remakes of FF5 and 6 () make me realize I'm not going to have much money in the near future.

By nick174, # 8. June 2007, 03:48:29

You have good point Ed. I never thought of it in such a light.

However, since I made that last post they have released DKC2 and Sonic 2...in that order! Is there a spy lurking for Nintendo somewhere about? <.< >.>

Do you know if we're gonna get neogeo games like europe's vc.

And as for imports, will they bring like the first star ocean and front mission 1 &2, not to mention Secret of Mana 2, japan's SD #3.

By darth_1978, # 6. October 2007, 00:35:06

avatar
we're probably getting neo geo, and i'm not sure about the front mission games because square likes to rerelease their properties as new games, but i wouldnt count it out.

*paitiently awaiting front mission ds*

By DotEd, # 6. October 2007, 17:17:46

Cool. Can't wait for them. And I'm waiting for front mission ds too. But would love to have original on VC. Also want Secret Of Mana too.

Any word on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II on NES? I heard about that one around the time Ninja Gaiden 1 came out. I am holding out for that because I love the Ninja Turtles! (even though TMNT 1 was terrible)
