¡aloha, amigo! probably not -- they were as nonplussed by my case initially as everyone else... sometimes, i wonder if, perhaps, the after-effects would've been mitigated a bit if i hadn't waited until i had paralysis in both my arms, neck, and lower face, which was a reaction to the meningeal encephalitis which may have been solely caused by my ridiculously high fever, but given the particular brew of viruses and bacteria which broke this camel's back, so it is extremely probable that a microbe or combination of the microbes oozing through my veins would have caused similar nerve/brain damage, since some of the agents they did identify cause encephalitis of their own accord... it's more of an existential question: just how bad off do i need to be to do something to remedy it, especially when my dearest and most dissolute friends not only tell me that i really ought to the emergency room, but offer to escort me there...

as for me with them, for the first few days it was practically a weekend at bernie's situation, being dragged from place to place, being slapped into consciousness so i could sign a release form so that a spinal tap could be performed, propped into machines, slouching into unconsciousness, only to find myself velcro-strapped to the device... for once, i kept my mouth shut -- or, rather, was a rather passive none-too-observant observee of the observers...
