The menace of the Opera

Alternative revenue streams

Basically we found a way to make extra $$. Remove something that will make a group of users scream out loud then offer the poor guys working in frontline some money to put it back so they wont be slapped by the users for too long. So Håvard offered us some cash to put back the viewbar (disabled by default, but available in the appearance dialog) and also to offer the old keyboard shortcuts in the keyboard setup dialog.

We will make changes later on that people won't like. Especially when we are broke and need more money from Håvard :-p

while you're at it, please ask Håvard to give you money to reintroduce the nice little status window in the mail panel. not all of us use a status bar.

How about additional cash from readding context OS menu in Transfers?

illiad 10. September 2007, 15:50

put back the viewbar (disabled by default, but available in the appearance dialog)

- you are talking about 9500?? I dont see it...

and any buttoncode used from 923 is 'grayed out' ...

NoteMe 10. September 2007, 15:52

you are talking about 9500?? I dont bsee it...

It will probably be there for the next weekly or beta or what ever we can expect  Unless Håvard runs out of money that is p:

Meanwhile, here is a suggestion...

GianAo 10. September 2007, 19:15

It's not everybody loves the view bar, it is everybody loves a bar which is visible with a simple click on a button ... and now with extra money ... beer for everybody P:

zyzstar 10. September 2007, 20:53

It's great that the view bar is going back. Please also make sure that the original "toggle view bar" icon will stay in a default skin and a toggle button is still available in a "Buttons" tab of Appearance dialog.

illiad 10. September 2007, 21:31

and while we are at it, please can you verify that '923 style copy&paste' is available!! eg..
- even using shift, with the 'customise' dialog open, I want to be able to drag the icon from the address field, to create a 'quick bookmark' just to the left of it(see example), or in the 'notes' panel...

   :wizard:

I just got out of a secret meeting with one of the Opera devs called [Name removed by FBI] who told me something worrying. I have no words for it, but he gave me this screenshot of Operas new splash screen.
