Contrast always gets attention. In a Multi-cultural environment we tend to overlook the beauty of cultural contrast which fall as the foundation of originality and adaptability. The improvisation on existing product is a sign of flaw in design. An improvisation towards a product occur because it may be done for users comfort, wanting attention, cultural background and likeness towards a certain feel. This section here archives and observe such scenarios in hope to understand and learn from the pure adaptability and improvisation of consumers towards achieving a better product. The photos below are of my students. Both Rezuan and Nabillah are of Malay descendents and are natives of Malaysia.


Nabillah dressed in her headgear is listening to audio through her headphones. There are times when you see her hard at work taking photographs with a her high resolution digital camera.


Rezuan don in his "baju Melayu" checks his messages on his mobile phone. Other days he dresses up like any other university students in blue jeans and sneakers. He does hip hop and rap too.

In these two photos,the image of modern tools utilized by fast paced working industry consumers are vaporised when true identity, cultural, religion and basic daily lifestyle unfolds. This could be the other side of the story that we occasionally forget and find not interesting as it is abundant to the eyes and free flow.
