Stories from the casino floor

found a slots tournament

, ,

well, i didn't figure it would take long to find a tournament to enter. it's been so long that i'm completely out of the loop when it comes to who has been running what kind of slot player oriented promotions.

it seems like there's a LOT of stuff out there, but i won't get into all of that at the moment. a lot of it seems geared towards new players, and i have a bunch of online casino accounts open already, so that leaves me on the wrong side of the fence.

still, it turns out that i could go back to the microgaming casino where i had been doing a lot of playing before - ALL Jackpots - and find that they're partnering up with All Slots casino to present an outrageous free slots tournament.

there's $100,000 "freeroll" going on. and now, i'm going to admit to having turned into something of a "button pusher". i opened up the casino, was happy that i still had some real money in there that i had long since forgotten about, and noticed the big-ass slots freeroll that was going on.

well, it seems like that $100,000 is broken into parts. tonight there was $2,500 available and the tourney was on the Tombraider machine. i had forgotten all of the winning combos, so i wasn't really "into" it. i was just puching buttons.

still, it was neat. the starting point put me in about 3,300th place. i hit a special and got some credit by picking the right "idols" during the special screen. that put me up into 1,900th place. but i busted out.

there was a timer going, and i'm thinking it was about 5 minutes. i'm not sure if that means there is only 5 minutes of play that you can have or not. when i go back for the next tourney maybe i won't be so pressed for time and i'll be able to take a moment and figure out exactly how it works.

well, that's all for now. it's good to be back

Any new news??

i've been doing just about everything other thanplaying slots online for the longest time. in fact, i'm quite pleased to see that this blog hasn't been pulled from cyberspace by the crew at opera.

i apologize to any of my readers who may have been wondering where i've been for the past 15 months, or however long it's been.

i see that a lot of the casinos are still offering things like free spins to their new customers. that doesn't do me much good, lol.

but, i also noticed that the prize pools for the tournaments is outrageous compared to when i was playing somewhat regularly. now they're awarding as much as $100,000 in prize money. i thought $10,000 was awesome!

has anyone been playing lately??

any updates to share??

Card Games

wow - i thought it had been forever, but i guess it really hasn't. i just feel like i've been gone for years and years.

i haven't gotten back into the casino gaming at all to be honest. but, i have been playing games to pass the time. in fact, i've been playing a lot of cards lately, mostly at Full Tilt.

i've been taking my poker seriously for the past three weeks, and although i've improved, i'm certainly not planning on quitting my day job any time soon.

before the poker, i was tinkering with the game of Gin Rummy. at Game Colony, i'm solidly no better (or worse) than when i started. i should be rated 1500, which is what they rate you when you walk in the door for the first time. lol!

anyway, i wonder if i can morph this from "the online slots" blog to the "what i've been up to lately" blog??

anyway, just stopping in spouting a bit.

take care guys,
- pete

Days without an Author

i know that i haven't been here and blogging for quite some time, and i realize that i probably won't be returning very often either.

it turns out i got a position working on some web projects that are going to be chewing up all of what was the recreation time i'd spend playing slots and blogging about it. i'm a bit behind the rest of the team i've joined, and so that disposable time just got turned into "catch up" time. if you know what i mean.

i think that working on projects like recording videos from youtube and the like will be fun. and i can see myself getting caught up in things like link-building for sites like the online poker room reviews warehouse, or the other gaming website, hold on, let me think, oh, the one about playing american darts, not english darts.

i am sure that the slots world will do fine without me. and after having written up my "hello and goodbye" post, it's just as likely that i'll be back sooner than i think. only 'cause i've made a clean split, like the kid that goes to New York City and wishes all his pals farewell before he leaves. to return six weeks later, lol.

well, for now at least, let me bid you adieu.

Hiccup at Harbour

well, i tried to get into English harbour this morning a couple of times, and gave up on the idea. i can open the casino on my 'puter, and log in. it even gets to the point where it asks if i'm in the mood for real money play, or just want to play for fun.

after i answer that, it hangs. i can see the progressive tickers clicking up bit by bit, but i can't get any of the games to come up. and i can't get into the tournament lobby to even see what's going on there.

at first i was thinking a restart of the computer would clear that all up, but my computer is old (the son reminds me from time to time about that), and there's so much stuff on it that restarting would take about the same amount of time i wanted to spend playing, so that wasn't an option.

here, i find myself a little later in the day with some free time, so i thought whatever it was might have cleared up. nope. same thing happened.

this is as far as i could go at the moment . . .

i'll try again in the morning and see what's up. i know i missed out on the last $5,000 freeroll completely. i'd like to get some spins in on the new one this week. and, there's a bunch of really low cost buy-ins starting up, like a buck to enter. i'd like to test some of that action as well.

well, off to All Jackpots for a while . . .

Santa Paws

,

Due out the middle of this month (Dec. 2006) from Micgrogaming at Roxy Palace , is a 20 payline video slot game called Santa Paws. It has a free spin bonus feature, one wild during normal play and two wilds during free spins. It also has a double or quadruple gamble feature. The gamble feature works on the popular card theme, choose suit color for a double, correctly guess the suit for quad.

Santa Paws comes from the fact that the game theme features a polar bear in santa garb. There are also penguins, seals and killer whales, none of which have paws, but all of which fit in the polar theme.

Here is a screen shot of the game:

We all love those free spins, you can generate the free spin feature by being lucky enough to find three, four or five scatters. The scatter symbol the penguin bearing a big purple gift. There’s a multiplier on those free spins that could be up to 7x, and you can re-trigger free spins during your free spins.

Here’s that paytable.

Just look at that goofy white bear. His expression reminds me of my big stupid lab TJ. Always smiling. Well, we’ll be smiling if we land 5 polar bears on a line and win 4,000 coins!

This game’s so big, they needed two paytables… here’s the other one, that shows more of the regular play wins.

The wild symbol is that goofy bear. During regular play, he’s wild for everything but the scatter penguin. Now here’s the interesting thing. During free spins, he’s joined by the killer whale who is also a wild symbol. Still wild for anything but the penguin. Did I mention we love the free spins?

It seems a little late in the year for a new Christmas themed game, but as the big day gets closer, the frenzy mounts. Maybe they’re crazy like a fox to wait ‘till Mid-December to launch this one. Keep a polar eye out for this one and try it when you’ve reached the end of your online shopping rope.

100 Spins on Tunzamunni

, ,

today i thought i'd try something alittle different. recently, all jackpots casino game me a $15 bonus in my account. it didn't go along with any deposit i made. in fact, i had just made a withdrawal.

it did co-incide with my birthday, but that might just be coincidence. but, at any rate, i thought i'd do a little bit of playing this morning. and, i decided to do it on the Tunzamunni machine.

the Tunzamunni is a progressive slot game, with a coins size that's fixed at a nickel. it takes a max bet to win the jackpot, and since you can play up to 5 coins per spin, a max bet costs a quarter.

that's about perfectly reasonable in my book. right now that jackpot is up to over $63,000, so for a quarter a spin i'm looking at a super-high potential payoff.

i decided to try this out not only because it's a cheap way to take a shot at a jackpot, but because it also jives with a promotion offer we've received here at the humble blog.

River Belle casino is giving new players 100 Free Spins on the Tunzamunni Machine

what that means is they're giving away some $25 free accounts, which is twice as good as most free money accounts (actually 2 and half times better, most free money accounts are $10). that $25 will give even the most unlucky player 100 free spins on the tunzamunni.

having $15 of my own, i thought i'd give it a go, and sat down for a quick 100 spin session on the slot.

since the slot machine is a microgaming, and i'm playing at one of the better ones (and riverbelle is a good one too), there's an "expert mode" on the machine. it let's me hit "autospin" which i did. somewhere around spin number 50 my bankroll was down to the single digits in the dollars space, and i thought there would be a good chance of me busting out before i hit the 100th spin.

but then, i landed three sevens (mixed) for my big winner of the morning. that put me ahead of where i started, and that where i ended.

this was my 100th spin . . .

so i did manage to take the 100, and some good things happened along the way.

this was just a fun little thing to try. obviously i could keep spinning for quite some time, but i thought a fun little session was what i was after today. and that's what i got.

i do have to say that the tunzamunni slot has become one of my two favorite progressive slot machines. i just love how crips the colors and the action are, and the fact that for $15 or $20 i could sit down and play the thing!

New Microgaming Games

every month microgaming casinos come out with a new crop of online slot games, which is one of the reasons that i am such a big fan of microgaming. each machine has a bit of a unique twist to it, and i kind of look forward to testing them out when they are released.

this month, on the first of december, they launched four new machines!

they are:
> Mega-Moolah
> Summertime
> Glory of Rome and
> Twin Samurai

they're all video slots, although they have different paylines. the summertime machine is the more "old school" of the bunch only offering nine paylines. the rest have 20+ paylines to work with.

i hope to get up some short reviews of each of the machines in the near future. i've already gotten to spend some time on every one of them, and i'm really smitten by the progressive slot machine in the bunch, the Mega-Moolah.
