Install Mac OSX Tiger on Vmware 5.0
Friday, June 30, 2006 9:08:45 PM
Preparation:
1. Get the installation DVD of Mac OS X Tiger. Use Emule to download Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.3 For x86
2. Install Vmware 5.0 and create the guest machine for Tiger. OS type uses "FreeBSD", memory needs at least 256M and set hard disk to 6G above. Open the vmx configuration file with text editor and add a line "paevm=true" coz Tiger needs the PAE (Physical Address Extension)support of CPU.
Installation:
1. Insert DVD disk of Tiger and boot the guest machine from Vmware.
2. No need use other tool to partition for Tiger installation. Mac OS X contains the partition tool in the installation disk. In the filebar, click Utilities -> Disk Utility. Create a partition to install Tiger.

3. Next steps are easy, simply follow the instructions of installer.
Problem:
Can not change the resolution in Mac OS X. Only one option appears in the setting of display configuration in Tiger. "1024x768", this issue is due to non-full-compatible of vmware virtual display card in Mac OS X. So far there has no any trick to fix it.
