Two more weeks and counting

Needless to say the big occasion coming up is the opening of the Ocean Springs/Biloxi bridge. The plan is to have the ribbon-cutting on the bridge and traffic(I assume) will be able to cross both ways. Only two lanes, so don't get wild here and want to pass someone. There is lots of water to drop in to. Anyway they are promoting food/slash drink booths and who knows what else. I really do hope they have t-shirts with the bridge and date on it. Yep, I will indulge and wear it proudly. Hey, I could have my picture taken and email it to friends and family to show them it really did come about. It has been a long two years waiting for this to come about. On the beachfront many of the homes are in process of rebuilding. There are some really beautiful places going up with lots of money invested. It seems the Bay area waters have more boats out on these beautiful days.
Now is the time to start the fall festivals with all their unusual crafts. Ocean Springs is getting bigger each year and it takes me two days to cover the streets cuz I like to look at everything. Sometimes I even go back to a booth that catches my interest and buy an item. Jewelry is usually plentiful and different but not enticing. I would rather look at the pottery and paintings. Oh yes, the food is excellent as well. Only problem is there is no place to sit and eat. Probably just as well considering how trashy it can get. Maybe next time I will post some pictures of the happenings in our little town of Ocean Springs.
