Come on down, SPRING!!!!!!

,

Easter is over even tho the day was not terrific. Like rather cold for the south. Pretty much stayed that way all day. I decided to stay home and cook rather than spend bucks to eat out. I was going to stop at Heavenly Ham for a thick slice and didn't do that either. Oh well..... So we are now into spring but where is it. Yet tomorrow it should hit in the 80's. Imagine!
The people came to mow and it looks really great. Where I sodded is starting to show signs of taking so my big, blah spot should cover by end of summer. Now I want to plant some veggies so I can have some fresh food later on. Like tomatoes and eggplant. I also want to put some flowers in my buckets to add some color. Like petunias, daisies and marigolds would do nicely. I never have put alot of flowers out cuz the squirrels like to help themselves but I may try again.
I decided to try a new site STUMBLEUPON to find sites of my interests that others have found. Right now I am not that sure as to how it works but I am learning. I also need to learn how to post sites I have found that might interst others. So much to learn........... But opens up alot of internet avenues.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

DON'T MESS WITH OUR CHOCOLATE[IMGRIGHT=]

I am a chocoholic, I admit it and like it just the way it is. But it looks like the FDA is trying to make changes in the definition of Chocolate according to info at the Candy Blog. Check it out and see what you can do to let the FDA know how you feel. You can link to the http://www.dontmesswithourchocolate.com site to spread the word.
Go to all your favorite food sites and you can find many great ideas. I got most of my ideas at MOM'S MENU mainly because the recipes are so homey(just like MOM used to make.) One idea I found there was for a CARROT CAKE which is one of my favorites. I decided to make cupcakes from the recipe. That way I can freeze them and have them as a treat now and them.
Happy Easter and enjoy your day where ever you spend your meal.

Palm Sunday starts Holy Week

,

For Christians tomorrow is Palm Sunday and now is time to replace the palms for this year. Usually the blessing takes place at an earlier Mass which is o.k. as long as I get some. The rest of the week will be busy starting on Holy Thursday. I probably will go that night and then Friday at 3p.m. when they have the Stations of the cross. Years ago when I was working, I would take off for an hour or so as this was the thing to do. Now it seems we are lucky to have 30 people show up. What they have to do I don't know. I may go to Saturday night service rather than Sunday as there is more ceremony. As long as it is not too late to drive home. So far I have no plans for Easter and may just go out for dinner.
Good news yesterday. Ken and April were approved for their home. I could tell he was excited about finally having a place of their own. He said there was lots to do to spruce the place up so they may take the month of April to do just that. I am anxious to get up there to see it. Maybe come fall I could go when it gets cooler.
The news these days seems to center around the UK sailors and getting them released. Sad for family and friends but these are the consequences of war. There is no telling what kind of sentencing will be involved when they go to trial as it seems they could be found guilty. I wonder why and how these kids manage to get themselves in such bad situations. Naturally the higher-ups give the orders but don't take the consequences like jail time.
