Secret Age of Empires II Cheat

, , , ...

I've kept this secret for years and only me and my brother knew of it and I haven't shared it with anyone nor have I seen it on any cheat site. I think it's long overdue that I tell you.

On Age of Empires II you can have certain buildings attack adjacent enemy buildings. First you build either a Barracks, Stable or Archery Range next to an enemy building (as in touching), then you select that building you made and right-click the enemy building you're next to. You'll notice the enemy's building slowly losing life and it will continue until it's destroyed. You can't stop attacking it and can be re-produced in the Conquerors expansion pack.

And while I'm on the Conquerors there's a bug where "Hoardings" doesn't give you +1000 to your castle. Instead it gives you ~120% more hit points to your castle. How cool is that?

Hope this has been interesting! wink

It Doesn't Matter If I Didn't Like Them...

They must still be grieving. They lost someone who had a creative mind and a strong heart. He didn't care what life threw at him, he just kept on going.

I may not be a fan of his company, but he was of inspiration through his way of life and what he said.

I will never forget him. He is the reason why we have the Internet, the way gaming has changed and the awesome gadgets and technology his company are famous for.

RIP Steve Jobs. One of the greatest men who ever lived. 1955-2011

I've Started College!

, , , ...

I got enrolled last Friday and I've just finished my first week at Barnfield!

I'm currently undertaking the IT Practitioners BTEC course (until year 2 where I can choose a speciallised path) and ATM I'm finding it really helpful. For one thing I've learned what a PAN is - a Personal Area Network. I've never heard of that before and I've also learned about Cisco Packet Tracer (with a download coming to my home PC). bigsmile

I'm hoping to become a games designer in the future and I've found a ton of jobs and careers which not only offer very reasonable wages but also a great experience.

I'm quite happy the teachers/lecturers/etc have got something I've been trying to find for years: personality. It's one reason I'm going to Barnfield Tech (and a reason why I'm actually happy to go and get educated). wink

The main reason I wanted to do gaming development was because of Slightly Mad Studios.

SMS have been a great role-model in a way to me and they have a brilliant combination of what I like (a working environment), what I love (games), and what I adore (racing!). I've set myself to aim for SMS within the next 10 years so I can finally not only adore my favourite game studio, but actually work for my favourite studio. That would be awesome. rolleyes

I hope I can keep this blog up-to-date now I'm at college, but in the meantime I'm finally doing something where my knowledge from not doing my homework in high school is paying off at level 3. happy

A Sad, Abrupt End

I have no other choice than to stop the game reviews I've posted over the last few weeks. sad
Due to budget (and personal) reasons I cannot keep up with demand and will have to therefore end the reviews I loved to post. cry
But I will continue posting to the blog more often than before. smile

No Review This Week

Sadly, there will be no review today because I've got family over and I would like to spend time with them. Sorry about that. sad

Mozilla Releases New Release Schedule

, ,

According to the draft posted here Mozilla plans to release a new version of firefox every 16 weeks. As this is only a draft it's not set in stone and they may decide to change it from time to time (which they will).

Personally, I would like Mozilla to release a new version of Firefox every 13 weeks because that would equate into 1 release per quarter and it would allow enough time to develop and stabilise each release. Google use every 6-7 weeks to release a new version but I think that's too short because there isn't enough going into each release. By the time Chrome has the 'necessities' it would probably be at version (1)18, but it could be worse. If Mozilla's codebase was the problem then 16-17 weeks sounds about right due to the increased complexity of it all and the possibilities of delays.
