Welcome to the Opera Blog Carnival Group!

Here is where you can find upcoming blog carnivals where you can submit your best Opera Blog posts. Sometimes, older blog entries roll off the front page, never to be seen or heard from again. A Blog Carnival allows you to pull your favorite posts from days, weeks or months gone by and submit them to a blog carnival.
What Is a Blog Carnival?
A blog carnival is simply a roaming collection of like-themed posts gathered and displayed on a different Opera blog each week for your reading pleasure. They don't necessarily have to be your most recent posts, but they should be among your best posts.
How Do I Submit My Blog Entries to the Blog Carnival?
Just go to the forum and find a blog carnival topic and submit your best blog entry on that topic. The forum will be checked daily for new submissions. You can enter as many different carnivals (topics) as you want. The carnivals are ongoing, and since they will be published on Friday night, the deadline for submission for the next week's carnival is 6PM CDT on the previous Thursday.
How Do I Host a Blog Carnival? And Why Would I Want to?
Simple, just sign up in the forum. And as to the second question, the answer is traffic, baby. By hosting a blog carnival, you get traffic to your site. Also, by agreeing to host a carnival, you get to pick and choose the content and add some of your own picks to that week's carnival.
How Will the Blog Carnivals Be Publicized?
Each week's blog carnival will be posted here, along with a link to that week's host site. I am also hopeful that information about the ongoing blog carnivals will be posted on the Community front page. But, remember, this is not an official part of the Opera Community. It's just something I thought would be fun to do!

For myself, I am not a student, a mommy, or an artist and I do not work for a living. I have not posted on any of these life experiences. Fortunately many of my postings do focus on love and affairs of the heart which I am assuming includes sex, a topic with which I am somewhat familiar.
Perhaps at the end of the carnival it would be good to add one more topic that everyone in the community could participate in. I would suggest something like "My Best Post Ever" or "My Favorite Topic".
Another matter: I am not clear whether or not this is a contest. I don't think it is and I don't think it should be. Some, however, may think that it is a contest. Perhaps it should be made clear whether it is or is not.
Thanks for the effort you guys have put into this. I think it should be fun. S.

I would suggest combining the mommies and the daddies into one topic, perhaps called "Parenting". This would give fathers an equal oportunity to submit postings, however I would fully expect the vast majority of entries to be from women. S.
