How to Install User java script in Opera

, , , , ,

Installing user java script to enhance features or fix issues in opera is very simple. The steps to install user java script are:

Step-1. Create a folder any where in your computer. (for example: desktop>my documents in win XP). Name it as you like (for example "Opera User Script").
Step-2. Copy user script file there.
Step-3. Open opera. Go to Tools > Preferences > Advanced>content>jaga script options>select the folder created in step-1. Click "OK" and exit preference window.

You are ready to use the the script.

** Note that some java script files you get in this forum are actually in txt format. For those files, you need to open in notepad or something like that and save as ".js " file.

For starting, you can get Operapedia script by Scipio and Google preview script for fun!!(right click>save target as). These scripts put wikipedia search result and thumbnail images respectively with google search reseults.

You can also like my another favorite script by fearphage to download videos from sites like youtube, google and mroe as you add yourself. Get this video script.
videoscript.js

Linked by "Google Operation System" blog. (but the link is broken!)

"Step-2. Copy user script file there."

Ok, but where do I get this user script file? I'm a BRAND NEW (previously an IE user) and I'm trying not to get frustrated. It just seems like Opera (EVERY forum, direction, etc) assumes people know than we actually do.

Secondly, why can't Opera automatically detect & install? Seriously, why does it have to be so complicated? It would be SO much easier to just have a "restore Opera defaults" button...

Are they trying to get us to get their PAID version??

Hey, LOVE the pics on the side of the google search. Thanks for that!

And.

I'm getting a "loading" icon in the middle of the page and I don't know what that's for, or what's it's loading. I just know that it doesn't stop loading. Can I stop that?? Thanks, Jim

Userscripts.org is a good place to look. though most of them are probably meant for firefox, Im sure there are ones that work with opera, just look for any file that adds .user to the .js
like if I installed a script called example, it would probably be called example.user.js, though it could just be example.js
