I finally got a few days away from home, as the roommate is out of school as of Monday, June 3rd. Long story short. Visiting an old "boyfriend" from high school in Holland, Michigan. Haven't seen him in 25 years. He is an amazing fisherman. After all day rain yesterday, we took his boat out early evening. This photo is 1 of 3 freshwater drum fish I caught! No, not in carp family. Not the most attractive fish in the world, but they are big and exciting to catch and release (of course). Going fishing again this evening. Fun times. May have more photos to post.
I've been celebrating my birthday, which is today (62) OMG! and exciting Chicago Black Hawks hockey victories since last Saturday. Had a great time last night with old and new friends. No photos taken? Now that was weird, but anyway I'm chilling at home today, watching the Black Hawks at 4:00pm Chicago time. Ha! Three more years to get Medicare and if I wanted to, could apply for reduced social security benefits. Decisions, decisions. Have a great weekend!
Happy Mothers Day to all Mom's of my Opera family. Pet Mom's count too (that would be me) Other noteworthy news: We decided to sell the 1985 Jayco class C motor home. Pat listed it on Craigslist last Saturday and sold to first person interested. Bittersweet feelings. We had several nice camping trips in the old gal. But when Pat's oldest daughter moved out in 2008 , we really had nobody to house and animal sit. No more summer get aways. "Stay-cations". Camper needed about $800 or more worth of new tires. A nice Hispanic family bought it yesterday and drove off into the sunset. The little boy, probably 7 or 8 years old, who I met last Saturday was very excited. Honestly, it was becoming an eye sore. Cash in hand to pay down some credit card debt. Also, the oldest dog, Capone, is 14 and has numerous health issues. Please say a prayer for him. He may be in dog heaven soon. Thanks for listening. I love all of you xxoo
Upgrade to latest android version today really sucked in the font department. Still strange, that I have set font size to "small" in order to read properly. Any other Android users having or had same problem?

Car wash

Much needed car wash outside and inside after about 2 years! Dog friend not allowed in car for some time. Still have some hair that only duct tape can remedy.

Swim wear

Ok friends, does this photo help in the voting that ends on Friday, March 15, 2013? Dave? Dave? Thanks in advance for participating.

pool time

If you recall a few weeks ago, I completed #20 of @26acts while swimming on a Saturday afternoon. I encouraged my new friend Tom, the novice triathlete in training to buy a Speedo suit. Today, I was swimming at the same time, and omg! (Dave settle down). He bought and was wearing a full body speedo, black "v" cut upper body, sleeveless. I wish I had a picture to share. He has some nice body art as well. He thanked me and said the suit has made a big difference in his workouts. Jokingly, I said, "now you need to shave". He points to his face, and I'm like no! He got it, and laughed as he referenced shaving all hair on his body.
Last Saturday I completed #20 of @26acts while at the gym, specifically in the swimming pool. Here are the details: so I'm swimming laps next to a guy who is training for a triathlon to be held at the University of Kansas June 2013. I strike up a conversation with him, Tom, about his need to get better at swimming. We continue to swim, but I'm peeking at his stroke to see if I can offer some advice. He accepts my advice with open arms. Tom is 29 years old. I suggest a different pattern of number of stokes, then breathing. In my opinion, he corrected his deficiency and became a more efficient swimmer. Lastly, I suggested he ditch the swim trunks, that a guy would wear to the beach (Bermuda's) and buy a Speedo for his training. Lol. Does this qualify for an act of kindness?

@26acts

I started "paying it forward" @26acts on December 19th, 2012. I have completed 19 acts so far. I have made a commitment to finish all 26 acts by April 12th. Got a little lazy, time at the gym, etc, got me off track. But Obama's State of the Union reminded me what I have to finish. Have a great weekend!
