Wednesday at school, one of my teaching assistant's asked me (at 8:00 am) how do I keep my energy up? I said with good coffee, and the fish philosophy, and I showed her my necklace with a cute little green stripped fish on it. Deb responded back and said, "oh I take fish oil too"
I said, well the fish philosophy is about these guys at a fish market in Seattle Washington and how they keep their engery up.
So, I gave Deb the Fish video to watch over the weekend. Our special education cooperative is very "fishy" and so is the 2nd floor of the district office, where I have an office, and my fish display of which I am very proud
I will post Deb's response to the Fish video when she gives me her critique.

Here is part of my "Fish" collection located at my office
If anyone out there is familiar with the Fish philosophy, you know, you cannot have too many fish to remind you to "be there, make their day, and be a team player
especially when working with children who have special needs

Today we are preparing for winter by raking and mulching leaves on the 1.65 acre property. Yes, of course we have a mulching tractor
Maybe this weekend we can put the cover on the swimming pool too.

It's always nice to have a little camp fire when doing outside work in 35-degree temps.
Trying to do outside work and sneak in to watch a bit of the Ohio State at Illinois football game too

Here's my new Obama song to the cadence of the commercial tune of a famous rice product, so think of this "Rice-a-Roni the San Fransisco treat" and sing this: "Barack Obama is going to D.C." Maybe I'll sing it and upload to You tube

Glad to see that mobile blogging is up and running again. Anyway, this is a picture of the sugar maple tree in our backyard. Isn't it beautiful? I think so
Right now, in our neck of the woods, the trees are at their peak
and this is my (and Pat's) favorite time of the year. I do have other fall photos to post, but will do it another time, as I have critters to care for. So

I have not had time to post recently, because of busy start of the school year. But this situation today, is post-worthy. This morning one of our dogs and I drove to CVS pharmacy to pick up a few essential items. On the way, and driving through beautiful Wayne, Illinois (population: not very many) we see the
annual Fox and Hound parade. With Blue in the car, and my window down slightly, I panic as if he is going to "wig out" over dogs, horses and people in red and black attire. He whined a little, but was really good
You have to be rich to live in Wayne, famous for horse farms, alpaca farms and estates, if you will. Read the next post and you will learn what happened next. Blue and I got to CVS and back to the house in time for the Bears game to start.

On our way to CVS this morning, Blue and I ran into the annual Fox and Hound parade in Wayne, Illinois. Wayne's finest, meaning 1 of 5 police officers in town directed all traffic to the left shoulder. I was pleased to take more photos. The parade was around 10:00 am. The weather was partly sunny, in favor of the parade and subsequent festivities. Right now, it's overcast and drizzling a little. I'm hoping to blog more, as the school year is now underway and past the real crazy beginning of the year (in special education)

I wish I had a tiny pink Chicago Cubs hat for Kiwi, my chatty green and orange pal. No hat for her, but we are both very into the Cubs this year. She can whistle most of "Take me out to the ball game", but then says, "Bears" (Chicago Bears) after the baseball song. As you can imagine, I taught her how to whistle the "Bears Fight Song" wherein she responds: "Bears", it is really funny:lol:
That's it for now, having a gal over to swim soon, so I need to go.

We returned yesterday from a 9 day vacation to the Saugatuck/Douglas area in SW Michigan. Stayed at a women's resort for the first 6 days, then decided to stay on 3 more days closer to town and Oval Beach. On good weather days, this area is Heaven
Even I did some shopping for myself
Oval Beach is rated one of the best beaches in America and now I know why. It is clean, good parking, and during high tide, the waves are excellent for body surfing. You can also find some nice stones and small rocks on the shore. We had a blast
Played cribbage with our coffee each morning and planned the day from there. We will definitely return again soon. It's less than 200 miles from the house and I used only a half tank of gas one way. Oh and we also went bowling
and where I lack skills in cribbage, I made up in bowling
