Turnin' up the heat - II

Sorry for the looooooong delay. It was good to see the long list of widget ideas that we got from you guys. We now have a huge list of widgets to work on. But unfortunately we got bogged down with some crucial work and we had to complete that before we could work on these widgets.

In the next few weeks whenever we have the next Xtreme Programming week we will get the temperature soring. And hopefully by then we would also have our

"secret sauce"

ready that would not only enable us to churn out widgets a lot more easily, but also allow you to make your own widgets easily.

The Opera India widget team has boldly accepted a daunting task - make countless number of widgets at break-neck speed. We hope to raise the temperature and make it go through our new office's roof!

To your right, you will see the start of the team's brave efforts, having just uploaded the first counted widget.

Tell us what kind of widgets you have been dreaming of, and we will try our best to incorporate them in our never-ending list. Comment now!

Xtreme OTW !

Widgets, Xtreme OTW

Mission: Xtreme "Open the Web"
Target: Open 50 websites
Team: 8 members of the Opera India team (well, 6 and a half actually .. Sigbjorn and Anil were busy with other things ... )
Time alloted: 4 days
Time taken: 2 days

Last week the complete Opera India team took upon themselves a task of going all "gung-ho" about fixing web sites. We would be working 24/7 for the next 4 days. We started at 8 in the morning, finishing at 8 in the evening. This kind of a task is usually an "Open the Web" department responsibilty, but this week all joined hands. We set up a target of 50 websites, in 4 days. We completed it in 2 days

As you can see, we set up an ad-hoc xtreme workplace, and went full throttle. After completing, the task, we were still high on the adrenaline and went on for an "xtreme widget-dev" mania. I think Sagar had too much of the sugar coated candy (supplied by Vivek) and went on to make 8 widgets in 2 days !!!!

Feels good now. 50 better websites out there (I know its a long way we have to go though)
