I tried using My Opera to store my files before I bought my own host.

The thing that pushed me away was mostly the lack of FTP and PHP support.

Disk is getting so cheap... I remember when you used to get 5MB free. That was only about 12 years ago or something.

Remember when Gmail's 1 gig of storage was an April Fool's joke?

Greg Smithgregsmithsays Friday, August 14, 2009 2:35:51 AM

or when it was practically impossible to download 1MB

Gyrobo Friday, August 14, 2009 2:43:57 AM

Youtube was impossible then.

I still have a cache of MIDIs on my drive somewhere. vanBasco's is still the best player around.

I actually have a CD of old commercials from the 60s that I got before Youtube. They're probably all up there by now.

Joseph D. Lienjdlien Friday, August 14, 2009 3:48:00 PM

You collect commercials from the '60s? Seems like kind of an odd hobby for someone as young as you...
They are interesting to look at. I think one quality of commercials from that far back was that there wasn't a whole lot of enforcement as to the validity of certain claims being made...

I only bought the CD because it was supposed to have a shot of the Flintstones smoking cigarettes.

It promised more than it delivered.

Joseph D. Lienjdlien Friday, August 14, 2009 7:09:34 PM

The Flintstones from the Stoner Age?

Gyrobo Friday, August 14, 2009 8:08:54 PM
