Palm users - please download 3.0 again now!
By Marianne. Thursday, 30. November 2006, 10:32:19
Sorry for the inconvenience with Opera Mini 3.0 not working. Hopefully we've managed to improve it now, so please go to mini.opera.com and download it again!
The build number should be 3.0.6358 (menu -> tools -> help -> about)
Please let us know if it works (or not)!

When trying to get the latest version for my treo using the mobile I got the 3.0.6167, and when using the computer I got to the link to download 3.0.6358, but the server replied me with an informative "Nope" message.
Have I been too fast in trying to download Opera mini?

6167 you shouldn't have gotten at all... Are you sure you entered the correct address? mini.opera.com

UNTIL I uninstalled Java thoroughly and reinstalled it.
1) from within IBM Java launcher, deleted Opera
2) deleted IBM Java: in the main Palm launcher delete everything starting with Java or J9
3) deleted leftover files: I used Filez* to delete leftover files starting with J9 or java
4) reinstalled Java: copied the two IBM Java VM installation files in again
5) set Java prefs: went to the Palm "Prefs" application, and scrolled to the bottom to "IBM Java VM"...then set
- checked "use double buffering", "use high resolution coord"
- set memory max to 4MB (some say 1MB is enough or even better)
- set stack to 32K (essential)
6) reinstalled Opera from mini.opera.com
FINALLY no crashes! Hopes this helps people who are still getting crashes!
* you can use any file manager...you can get Filez from http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=9992

-->Install java
-->edit preference
-->install old version of java
-->edit preference
-->install others versions of opera
-->reset the equipament
-->install everithing again
And until now, not working. The Opera even did not set the network settings. The internet is working normally because I can access with Blazer.
Someone know anything new?
