Opera Mini 4.1 final
By MarianneManneS. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 8:00:18 AM
There are no big differences from the beta, but there are a lot of things that have happened behind the surface:
- We have fixed a lot of bugs
- Minor changes to saving pages
- Several adjustments to auto-complete address input and upload/download
- BlackBerry devices with old firmware now get Opera Mini 4.1 without JSR-75.
We all hope you enjoy the final version of Opera Mini 4.1!
Regards,
The Opera Mini team

For all motorokr z6 users- when you click on the download link, by default, the opera mini 3.1.2 download link appears. There you have got to select 'try opera 4.1'. From there download the unsigned version of 4.1. It should work.

I know it worked for English-only texts - there were squares instead of Polish fonts, but I prefered having such buggy option than not have it at all. It was pretty usable even with this bug.
Can we expect to get this option in final anytime soon?
For now, I am forced to stay with 4.1 beta, as I don't want to lose small font size option.

With the new final version, I've tried open bloglines.com, gmail.com, during page load, the application stops working. Just weird.

Although yur phone should have support for jsr-75 according the manufacturer, it may still differ based on what firmware you have. Some carriers install their own tailored firmware on phones they sell.

Downloaded, installed and everything works fine, no bugs, no freeze.
My phone is the same, my data plan is the same.
There was some kind of server-side fix, or what?
Nevermind, I'm happy with it.
I suggest that try to download and install again, if you have problems. For me, just worked like a charm.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for. Are you suggesting that Opera should publish its own JVM and try to replace the JVM on all phones out there?
Hamada2008 # Wednesday, May 21, 2008 3:04:19 PM
Concerning JVM I think that carrier may manipulate some setting of java or that its version on mobile phone may be old one not capable to run many websites so i mean a more support for java based website even if on a very old phones. Please try http://billing.telecomegypt.com.eg/TEService/Arabic/Customer_Bill_Inquiry.aspx and enter for example "045" and "2238526" from opera and from pc
Thanx

And as I said, Opera Mini can't open HTML because doing so would make it a full browser, and it would no longer be "Opera Mini". If you are requesting a separate application to convert from OBML to HTML, I'm afraid this blog post isn't really the appropriate place for that. Try the Opera Mini forum.

To view the pages I've saved, I first need to go to the homepage and use the saved pages link from there. Am I the only one getting this? I'm on a Nokia N80, which is a symbian 9.1 based s60v3 device.
