Server Upgrade to 4.11.458

The global Mini cluster was upgraded by the server team Monday evening CET. The main improvements include:

enhanced site compatibility
a fix for pages with internal links
improved synchronization
binary files are always offered for download

Since JavaScript site patches are used to improve site compatibility, an enhancement allowing developers to bypass those patches has been included. The setting is available when entering the "config:" URL, but should always be enabled for normal usage.

All users automatically benefit from the upgrade (no manual change is needed, though it is possible to check the server version using the "debug:" URL).

on http://www.elsevier.nl/ I always get a mobile page not the full page, since a few weeks; quite annoying as the mobile page misses a lot (in other words I am being redirected to http://www.elsevier.mobi )

Mini 5 is in the works and should be with us soon guys. Bear in mind that soon in the mobile world means "less than a year, possibly within 6 months".

But when you change Rating - opera mini reloads page. When it shouldn't. It is very annoying =) All this in mobile view.

Apart from that - big thanks for your continuing work on mini =)

A server upgrade means that you don't have to go anywhere. The Opera Servers that Mini uses have been upgraded.

I too am only being given the mobile view which as prev stated is v v annoying-i cant seem to pull up the desk top version anymore. Its hard to navigate as its difficult to work out where you are exactly.

How to disable proxy server? Because Opera Mini 4.2 on T280i stop downloading page at 10kb. I have the same problem on OM3.1. Only 2.0 works great.

Since server upgrade I now cannot bank online with either of my banks. The Customer Service rep said that it has to be a problem with the isp or a proxy, and the only thing that i know of that changed last week was the server. Could I point my OM client to an old version or even do without the proxy? If so let me know. Thanks, and keep up the excellent work OM rules.

Try using the default browser for your phone if Mini still wont do it. You need to do it via your profile page, and choose to edit it. You'll be given options to upload a member picture as well as an avatar.

Hi,
I know there's probably a simple explanation for this but i havnt yet worked it out. When i use the Y search facility on the Start page, the page that comes back with the answers is 'set' with the 'location' as California. I have used the 'CHANGE LOCATION' but say when i close the app down & then later on open mini back up again its reverted back to 'Cali'. This is not too big a problem in the scheme of things as ive just saved Google in the bookmarks and use this instead. Any idea's ?

Is it possible to fix the search engine on a blog page to show more than just the first page of results (like it was fixed for the community blog roll).
I often get nearly 50 results for any search and can presently only access the first 20.

You wanna find out when it's out then subscribe to this blog or mine or one of the hundreds that are mobile related. This one will have the download link. No-one's gonna e-mail it to you.

Opera Mini is only at version 4.2 at the moment. Any further versions with higher numbers are hacked fake versions, some of which have the ability to store your passwords and bank data for future use by the people who hacked the program.
