Server Upgrade to 4.12.866
By Gerald Senarclens de Grancygsenarcl. Thursday, September 3, 2009 8:48:09 AM
- improved site compatibility
- better support of image maps
- login and JavaScript dialogs now have enhanced UTF-8 support
- partial support for designMode/ contentEditable was implemented
- <blink> and <marquee> are now always shown
- better handling of pages with very weak contrast
- and many bug fixes
All Opera Mini users automatically benefit from the upgrade (no manual change is needed, though it is possible to check the server version using the "debug:" URL).
Have a lot of fun!

I ran into an interesting usage scenario today. I'd clicked through various articles to get to this page that I found rather interesting. I wanted to save the page for later reading, but I also wanted to maintain it's history sequence, so I could go back and read the articles that linked to it.
It would be neat if OM5 provided some way of doing that.

Has anyone actually ever looked into this bug? It's a very long-standing issue, and I'm not really sure why it still remains when regular expressions constitute such an important piece of Javascript, and non-ASCII strings are very commonly found all over the web...
An example case where this breaks a web application completely is µTorrent MiniUI ( http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=47167 ). Various users have found µTorrent MiniUI to fail because of the broken regular expressions engine. And that sucks because oftentimes, Opera Mini is the only (otherwise) usable browser on whatever device it is that they use.

Some networks set a 300KB limit on data usage, per click if you catch my meaning. Give yours a call and find out if they do that. You may be able to convince them to change it, if there's been enough complaints anyway.
