well..tell you what..

i am not and including many of us here arent excited as much as before because Opera announces something new every year in Barcelona where they meet their important customers (phone makers, network operators, etc). The announcement usually includes a line stating that the new product or the new beta product or the new whatever will be available soon for the less important customers (us). This "soon" is a "soon" which is defined only in the Opera dictionary and could range from 8 months to 1.5 years to NEVER (as it happened in fact with 9.0 that had the same treatment of "soon" press releases and barcelona show-off but never saw the light of day).
This time being vague on dates has reached a new level. What will be available "soon" is not a beta or a new product but another announcement that is going to be published "soon" and will tell us that "soon" there will be a beta.
That's the way Opera works. They need to show they are still alive so that they can sign a deal with SonyEricsson or HTC to have their browser pre-installed in those devices. So really nothing to be excited about.

Opera doesn't need to to public announcements to show Sony Ericsson or HTC (or potential customers) that they are alive. They are obviously informed already because they have signed contracts that make it possible to share information between the companies.

When Opera makes a public announcement about something, companies like Sony Ericsson and HTC already know about it.

You clearly don't know how Opera (or the market, rather) works, so why bother posting comments like that?

Looks pretty cool. All screenshots/videos of Opera Mobile 9.5 have been from Windows platform. Will there be Symbian S60 version and how UI looks in that since there is no touchscreen (on any current S60 devices)? Opera Mini style mouse emulation perhaps?

@kiuze: Well, at least the title of this blog states “for Symbian and Windows Mobile”, so I’d say it’ll work on S60 handsets too.

Hopefully we’ll see a beta soon, this spring would be nice.
