Hunting for improper sites from Indonesia

KlikBCA

,

Among other eBanking websites in Indonesia, KlikBCA is the pioneer and most people use this service. There is two services featured on the website, individual and bussines account. Since I'm an individual account holder, I will only review this website on the individual account side.

The website layout is pretty simple and seem easy to navigate. But it breaks a lot of "good websites rules". It uses frames, it uses table for layout and it uses bad HTML code (no Doctype, no language reference, no meta informations).

Actually I don't expect KlikBCA to comply all web standard rules. But the usage of frames make this website is difficult to navigate using mobile browsers such as Opera Mini or other J2ME based mobile browsers. So far, I found that only Internet Explorer for Windows Mobile/CE that able to parse the frames and display KlikBCA correctly. Unfortunately, IE for Windows Mobile is not the common browser for mobile device.

If KlikBCA were developed by obeying web standard rules, it would help more people to access this website using their own mobile devices easily, despite that people also using SMS Banking.

The only annoying thing of KlikBCA is I must click twice just to check my balance. After logged in, I must click on Informasi Rekening and waiting until a new page is loaded, then clicking on Informasi Saldo.

Why don't they just using javascript menu for this purpose, so I don't have to wait another page to be loaded? doh

If you have the same thought as mine or want to counter me, please leave any comment. up

Hi there,

I think I have almost a same opinion with you. There are lots of annoying things in the website.

As an audience, I want to have shortcuts there. It's just too many clicks there. Yes, I want click-to-expand menu also. bigsmile

After I sent documents to reactivate it (I live in Australia), I went to Klikbca again, and was still blocked! Then I noticed that the site works best with IE 6 and above, and I always used Mozilla. Perhaps that's why I was blocked, not because of the wrong password. Does it make sense? Cos it doesn't, to me.

How to use Quote function:
