Ministry of Truth

When people start talking about politics it soon turns 'international' & everyone just talks about American foreign policy. Then we non Americans accuse those in the US of having a blinkered world view that doesn't extend past their borders.

For many people their 'world view' blinds them to what is happening within their own country.

Aside from having a fantastic title banner this blog keeps a good eye on UK issues, with well researched posts & very clear arguments.

So, I solve the problem of having a limmited world view by listening to the BBS News every day.

And by having lots of international friends.

Hi Kay!

BBS News or BBC News? P:

Not having a limited world view is certainly more desirable but I'm not sure it is such a 'problem'. Us non Americans constantly berate Americans for not paying much attention to world affairs, but is that really any better than non Americans ignoring what is happening on their home soil?

I know a lot of people here in England who (appear to be) really hot on US politics, but what is the point? We can't vote or do anything about it from all the way over here. I think a lot of people would benefit from taking a more active interest in the politics of their own country.

I can also recommend SchNews as a great source of under reported stories.
