Beautiful Day

Today was obscenely gorgeous. The weather was truly perfect here. That's not so common in August, which I general associate with muggy heat broken up by occasional torrential rain, with heat. Today was all deep blue sky with a few fluffy little clouds, temperatures in the 70's (that's Fahrenheit, of course. 75 Celsius wouldn't be so pleasant.) I felt guilty not being out on a nature walk or something. I did get out to the supermarket. It's Saturday. Stuff has to get done. We did manage to find some time to hang out in the backyard with the grandkids. It was a great day for just about anything.

Oh, I did come by your page. I see where you're a musician. We like musicians and even raised one. Thanks very much for stopping by and saying "Hi!"

there's something missing in your post... i wonder what it is... you are saying it's a perfect day. but between the lines, are volumes.

Rub it in why doncha. Thanks to that stupid jet-stream going south for the summer we've had totally groinch weather over here.

You notice how I had to invent a word to describe the overwhelming badness of the weather?

No real word exists that can adequately describe it.

I'm sorry. We've had at least three different summers here. Cool and wet, hot and muggy and lately it's been really nice most of the time. On the other hand, there are articles in the paper just about every day warning us that we're overdue for a huge hurricane. And insurance companies are dropping homes here as fast as they can.

Deke 31. August 2007, 10:23

Over here it's floods. Insurance companies won't touch any house that might be in line for a flooding. I guess it makes sense. If you only insure people for things that aren't going to happen to them you'll never have to pay out.

Maybe I'll apply for flood insurance. At least if they say no I'll know it's time to start building an ark...
