STICKY POST

About a month from today I will be home!

I'm planning to visit home this winter break! It's going to be a year and a half since the last time I visited home. I'm definitely excited about this. I wish I could spend more than a month at home but I guess that's the longest time I seem to have from now on. Since I'm almost half way through my college life already, I have to take time I can have fun at home to do sometime less fun but more productive. I'm thinking about taking summer classes, applying for an internship or getting a job during this summer break. I'm also planning to read many books as I can.

Thanksgiving is a few days ahead. During this break, almost every American student is staying at home and enjoying home-cooked food and family gathering while I will be staying on campus, hanging out with friends and studying for finals.

This weedend: A paper engineering class, study for Statistics & Electrical Midterm

This weekend, I have lot of fun writing a paper for engineering class, studying for statistics and electrical engineering midterm. It's not that bad because this is my first paper of the year. But the point is I haven't written for the long time so the it's hard to start writing a again. It's only double-space 4 pages and worth 5% of my grade. I have to finish the draft tonight, and if I have time before sleep I will study statistics a bit! Next week is Thanksgiving! YeeY!

November 9th: 56th Anniversary of Cambodia Independence Day

Cambodia Independence Monument

Cambodia is one of the Indochina countries. It was under the French colonization for 90 years. The colonization started in 1963 under the reign of King Norodom. Ninety years later, under the lead of King Norodom Sihanouk Cambodia gained full independence from France on November 9th 1953. Today is the 56th anniversary of Cambodia Independence Day. Thanks our King Father Norodom Sihanouk for bringing this worthwhile achievement to the country.

A lesson you might want to learn!

When I watched this video I felt the responsibility weighted on my both shoulders!

First Exam of the Semester!

Hey, today is my first exam of the fall semester, 2009. I'm quite confident that I have studied almost all the materials I have to know for the test. Even though I have to realize that this Engineering course, Mechanics of Materials, is pretty hard. As I stated in the previous post that I'm taking only four courses this semester, so I really need to do well in all of these courses( in order to advantage of this free time from taking five courses). Well, I will see it's black or white after 4pm today( It doesn't matter if it's black or white by the way).

My Birthday

September 13th is my birthday. I'm turning 22 now. I'm one year older than last year. Hopefully my thought is growing with age. This weekend I don't really have the time for myself. I'm organizing the project that is going to be held in 13 hours from now. I was decorating the Larison Hall all night tonight. I'm pretty tired now. Too exhausted from this, I totally forget it's my birthday. Luckily, one of my friends reminded me. However I'm celebrating birthday by myself this year. Don't think anybody realizes that it's my birthday. It's alright for me. I don't really like the idea that people celebrate my birthday for me though since I don't really like being paid attention to too much.

Latino Dance

Last night, Solene, her friend Sophia and I went to the Latino dance. I like Latino dances and musics. It seems to me that this particular culture is fond of dancing and their people have passion in musics and similar sorts of entertainment. Then we went to Akmal's gateway and hanged out with our friends. I was very exhausted from dancing but I had no idea from where those people got energy that they kept dancing in the gateway.

Had dinner with a new friend

Today I had dinner with my new friend. I enjoyed talking to her. She always looks like she's in a hurry.

The Second Week of the Second Year

This is my second week into Fall semester 2009-2010. I have four classes this semester: Statistics, Mechanics of Materials, Electrical, and Chinese. Luckily I managed to arrange my classes so that my first class of the day would not start until 9am. Beside classes I have two jobs. I'm working for MSS (Multicultural Student Services) as an assistant. This is going to be my first office position at Bucknell. For this position, one of many things I am responsible for is collecting databases and random facts about different cultures around the globe and presenting them to the Bucknell community. I'm also helping out around the office. My second job is technical writer for the Library & IT department. Being a technical writer I have to, of course, write answers to campus technology and library related questions. To make my start of semester a bit harder, I am one of the Fremont scholars of class 2012 who are in charge of running a international students and multicultural awareness project this year. This is also going to be the first international cultures awareness project at Bucknell. We named it as "Many Faces One World." I hope the new generations of Fremont scholars would keep this project alive into the far future.
