GAME REVIEW: JELLY DEFENSE

,

What is it?

Jelly Defense is a tower defence game, set in a bizarre alien planet. The planet is rich with crystals, and has been invaded by a mysterious force, intent on stealing the crystals for their own use. It's up to you to protect the crystals, from wave after wave of enemy threat.

To do this, you must set up towers that destroy the enemy as they pass. Some towers only attack certain enemies, however, and the key to success is ensuring that you use the right towers for the oncoming enemy hoard.

Defeating enemies gives you coins, with which you can upgrade existing towers, or create new ones. With 20 campaign levels, 8 unique power ups, and 10 different towers to utilise, you're sure to remember your time spent saving the planet.

OverjoidWhat we like

  • The game looks amazing - yet again, Infinite Dreams have made a gorgeous game.
  • The Jelly Planet is a great setting for the game - it's a real unique experience.
  • The level design is good, with some great tactical maps.
  • The enemies, towers, and power-ups are well designed - the game has a real personality.
  • There are 20 levels, which will take some time to play through. On top of that there is a hardcore speed mode, for those who like a challenge.

AnnoidWhat we don’t like

  • Although it looks and feels fresh, it is another Tower Defence game.
  • Some of the levels take a while to complete, which is a bit of a pain if you're playing on the go.
  • At nearly 50mb, it's a huge download.

I have to admit, I hate that every other game/app is a tower defence game. Surely theyve made up every theme now?
