Burn the City is a physics-based game, that's been on the Android Market for a while. It's received an update today, which has brought it to our attention.
It looks a little like Godzilla meets Angry Birds - you're a huge monster who is intent on exacting revenge on the humans that have kidnapped your family. To do this, you launch a variety of fireballs at buildings and structures, making those puny humans pay for their lack og judgement!
On your mission to destroy all mankind you must overcome more than 70 levels, and thankfully at your aid you have your fireball attack, and by eating different colored YUMs that are gathered by destroying crates throughout the levels, you obtain 3 special attacks: the first is TNT, which turns the standard fireball into a green explosive shot! The second is “Sniper”, which gives better accuracy across far distances, and finally the third special attack is “nuke” (YES!), which unleashes a nuclear blast (Sweet Motherload)
The latest update on Android™ includes 25 brand new levels, and a new stage called ‘DAWN’ (desert theme), that adds new challenging obstacles in the form of rain and wind. Additionally, the update includes a brand new Battle Mode where the objective is to destroy an endless horde of human kindling equipped with tanks and choppers! And finally, exclusive to the Battle Mode are new Nuclear YUMs capable of obliterating all on-screen enemies!
We love the style of the game, which can be seen from the video below. If you want to check it out, the full version (costing £0.99) can be found here, or there's a free trial version here.

GAMEVIL have announced that their iOS game, Air Penguin, is now available on the Android Market. Using the accelerometer in your phone, you must guide a penguin through the levels, avoiding the various obstacles and dangers in its way.
Players will guide Air Penguin through the icy South Pole using simple multi-directional tilt controls, made possible with the accelerometer in Android devices. Air Penguin will bounce through most of his journey but when he gains speed he can slide down the ice and then take off for a glide through the air. While dodging around hazards like thin ice, stubborn seals, prickly swordfish and angry sharks, other creatures such as turtles and whales can give a ride or another boost on his path.
With over 120 stages of Story mode, and a survival mode on top, there should be enough to keep anyone amused.
The game also offers graphics optimized for high-resolution displays, leaderboards and score-posting to Twitter and Facebook, extra unlockable character skins and more. If you're interesting, the game is available for free from the Market.

The iOS hit, Hard Lines HD has now been released onto the Android Market. It's like TRON on steroids, and boasts "screen-searing graphics, a bass-thumping retro soundtrack and endless replay value".
Here are some of the Android version specifics:
If you're still not sold, here's a video of the game in action. It's available RIGHT NOW for £1.99!
- Hard Lines, but on Android – the only difference is a lack of online leaderboards, which will
be coming in an update very very soon!
- Hard Lines HD – this bad boy has all the hi-res assets and screen-searing goodness of the
iPhone’s Retina version, with the added bonus that when you run it on a compatible device
you’ll also auto-unlock the EXTREME HD mode. Because we’re nice like that. 4 times the
play area, 4 times the fun!
- Quips unique to Android – yup, Lionel and his chums now spout Android-specific quips and

Full Fat Games have released their hit iOS game, Flick Golf!, onto the Android Market. It's a pretty good game, where you have to flick a golf ball, attempting to get as close to the hole as possible.
It is also a gorgeous-looking game, with some impressive graphics. Here are a few more features:
The game is available for £0.69, and requires Android version 2.1 or higher to play. It's also a rather large install of 23MB. Here's a video of the game in action:
- Try to shoot the perfect score in Quickshot mode.
- Play World Tour, from the USA’s West Coast to Japan in the Far East.
- Varying wind from the lightest breeze, to full on gales!

Apparently Super Stickman Golf has been a big hit on iOS, but I haven't really heard about it. The game has recently made it's debut on Android, and as it's free, I gave it a shot.
And you know what? It's pretty darn awesome. It's a 2D golf game, where you have a certain number of shots to get your ball in the hole. Sounds straightforward enough, but with some fiendishly difficult course designs, and useful power-ups, this is no ordinary golf game.
I certainly recommend trying it out, and we'll have a full review shortly. The game can be found on the Android Market here. Here's a video to put you in the mood in the meantime. FORE!
- 7 unlockable super clubs!
- Over 280 unique holes!
- OpenFeint online leaderboards.
- Amazing HD graphics
- Integrated OpenFeint Achievements.
- New crazy obstacles. Conveyor belts anyone??
- 8-bit chiptune game soundtrack!

Just the other day a topic was started in the forum about decent RPGs for Android. They are a bit thin on the ground, but here's one to add to you're collection.
Today, Gamevil have announced the release of DESTINIA, a "spectacular high-class action RPG". Not only does it look fairly impressive, it's got some deep gameplay too.
The game boasts over 30 hours of gameplay, with three classes to choose from and 39 skill trees to learn. Combat is "hard hitting", whatever that means (probably that you have a MASSIVE sword), but as the game is FREE, it might be worth your while checking it out.
Here's a video of the game in action:

Although the game has been out on iOS for some time, today Bulkypix has announced that Breitling Reno Air Race is available on the Android Market.
It has been described as "the best flying game for smartphones", and although I've not yet played it, it certainly looks pretty decent.
The game features:
With a breathtaking graphics engine, the game plunges players into an intense universe of faithfully recreated plane races around pylons, providing an opportunity to enjoy an online race with other competitors all over the world.
Players will be able to discover the various plane categories, starting with the "Unlimited", WW II fighter planes that have been "tuned" for the race, the "T6", the "Biplanes" and the "Jets" classes.
Players will also be able to "customize" their machines to their heart's content, thus personalizing their experience, before launching into the race to become the fastest pilot.
I'm off to give the game a go - anything that let's me recreate the film The Rocketeer is a winner in my book. Here's a video of the game in action:
- Epic races with a rare intensity
- Incredible fully 3D graphics
- Ultra-exact copy of Reno's ground and race circuits
- Optimized gyroscopic and touch controls
- 3 play options: Quick Play, Single Race and Multiplayer
- WiFi and 3G multi-player function for up to 8 players
- Several categories of planes
- Weather effects during the race, brave the snow, wind and rain elements
- Customizable planes: name, style and colors
- Single player Championship game mode
- Tutorial to learn to fly in a race
- Openfeint and Game Center compatible

If I had £1 for every version of Breakout that had ever been released, I would probably have at least £17 by now. That said, can you ever have too many versions of the game? Well, yes, I’d imagine.
Gameloft, however, have released a re-imagined version of Breakout, which is “about much more than breaking blocks”. Block Breaker 3: Unlimited takes the game to a whole new level, and is currently available for £0.63 in the Android Market. It looks fairly decent from the screenshots, and we’re keen to try it out.
We’ll try and get a review done soon, but for the meantime, here’s a video of the game in action for you to enjoy!
- Innovative new scrolling level design adds depth to the 100's of the game stages.
- Tons of new power-ups including the ability to deal with multiple balls… and pads!
- Climactic boss battles at the end of each of the 7 locations.
- Spend in-game cash to upgrade your pad at the shop and buy new bonuses and powers.
- Experience 8 different game modes including Endless Mode and Block Master.
- Enjoy never-ending fun thanks to the level generator!
This coincides nicely with an announcement from Gameloft that there is a "back to school" sale on some of their Android titles. The following games are now £0.63!:

One of the highest rated games available in the Android Market is now free. EVAC (which is available in both a standard and HD version), is made by Hexage, you have a library of quality titles.
If you haven’t played EVAC, it’s a bit like Metal Gear Solid meets Pac Man. The aim is to escape from colourful neon mazes, using a combination of stealth, action, and puzzles. The game is add-free, but funding by in-app purchases. Hexage have confirmed, however, that this just gives the player the option to pass difficult levels, increased number of maximum lives and longer lasting power-ups. You can complete the game without paying a penny.
If that hasn’t convinced you to give it a try, maybe the below video will tempt you.
