Candy Review: Mtn Dew by Pepsico, Inc

I did an earlier review of the Mountain Dew energy drink (I still call it Mountain Dew, because Mtn Dew makes no sense), but I have yet to review the original.
I used the original along with my Hershey Milk Chocolate review, to rinse my palate. It didn't do the Hershey bar any favours, but the whole chocastrophy (technical candy critic term, you don't need to understand) turned out pretty good, thanks to the divine nectar that is Mountain Dew.
It featured in a couple of episodes of Mad Men, where the character known as Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) claimed that mixing Mountain Dew with vodka wasn't a coctail, but an emergency. That might have worked in the 60s, but today I would've just thrown the vodka out and had the Mountain Dew on its own. Much better than a cocktail, certainly one with vodka in it.
I don't know what it tastes like. Well, I do, but I can't describe it. I don't even know what it's supposed to taste like. What does mountain dew taste like? Wouldn't it just be water? Condensation? I guess the taste is something with citrus in it. It does claim to have concentrated orange juice in it. It's like a really watered out orange juice I guess. With caffeine in it. And fizz.
In the end, it doesn't matter what it tastes like. It's delish. Just don't tell my dentist I said that.
