Tribute to Xiao Shu

My student worker found him in his bed. We think he died of a seizure and cerebral hemorrhage, but we're not sure. He had the same cough and cold of the other children but not as bad, because he was healthier and his heart was in good condition. He had a slight problem with reflux but could eat well, only small portions at a time.
Xiao Shu had the sweetest smile and huge ears. He loved to be tickled and really liked to take a bath. Whenever I'd come home, in the evening, he'd give me a grin of recognition, as if he was saying, "I know, that's you!"
We all miss him so much. I debated for a week to post about his death, but decided this blog represents "my reality in China" and death is reality. We do the best we can here considering the circumstances, but sometimes it's just not enough.

Oh, Pam. I'm aching for you and what reality is for you at this time in your life. I'm so sorry for your losses but thankful your little swallows are now whole and safe from all harm.

My two younger ones caught it, and I from them (which the doctor said was most unusual.) My oldest son, he had no symptoms at all besides a bit of red cheek, if I remember correctly.
I was so mad, my baby caught it at a baby socialization class from a baby whose mom was a nurse who brought her son there and said, "All babies get colds. I am a nurse. So big deal." I kept Karl away, but he caught it and then Amanda from him. Some people when they pay for a class, they are going to bring their child there even if the kid has a fever and all because they paid and are going to get their money's worth!!!!!!

Oh, I am so sorry -- he looks just like my son, Bennett. May the angels watch over him, and you as well.
