Martha White, Ms. Butterworth, and Me!!!

This was the best Christmas ever, if you gauge Christmas by how many packages you get. One contained some Martha White Blueberry Muffin Mix. It was sent by Debbie Miller, an email friend, I have never met, but Clay did when he was stateside. Thanks, Deb!

I don't have an oven, so I thought, I'd try making blueberry pancakes. It worked great. I still had some Ms. Butterworth's syrup left over from a year ago, when Darlene Bowling visited. Thanks Darlene (don't think she knows I have a blog though).

The other packages are Martha White's chocolate chip muffin mix and some lemon poppy seed. I just can't imagine pancakes with the other packages, but we'll try it anyway!!

Ha-ha! Trust you to improvise Pam! I'm glad you like the blueberry mix. I would actually like chocolate chip pancakes myself. Next time I'll make sure to send a toaster oven too! :P Debbie

Mmm, blueberry pancakes! Yum! I'll bet the others will also taste great that way, but I'd be happy to lug my oven and muffin-holders over for you to borrow for a few days if you don't get around to cooking them till I get back. Or you can take a break and bake them at my place, if baking is "a break" for you - it is for me, but I know not everyone feels that way! ;)

We LOVE chocolate chip pancakes with the following vanilla sauce - don't know if you have all the ingredients, but it is easy and so good warm on the pancakes in lieu of syrup! Would probably be good on the lemon ones too!

INGREDIENTS:
·1/2 cup sugar
·1 tablespoon cornstarch
·1 cup boiling water
·2 tablespoons butter
·1 teaspoon vanilla extract
·dash salt
PREPARATION:
In small saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in 1 cup boiling water. Simmer, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons butter, vanilla extract and salt; blend well.

How come you don't have an oven? Not even a little electric one? Guess you can really bake something in a Wok, and steam.

Woks are great!

Don't Chinese people bake or roast anything?

I made some cookies before Christmas using the lemon poppyseed mix. There were very good. The kids loved them!

Hi Pam, just discovered your blog. You are very welcome for the syrup! Don't know if Peter has told you or not but I will be in China for about 3 weeks starting March 13; my 10 year old granddaughter is coming with me. Hope to see you then God bless.
