Slept Through the Quake

Evidently, there was an earthquake in southwest China this afternoon. Several people have emailed and called to see if we were ok. Xiao Qing and I slept through the whole thing. But Clay experienced the tremors out at the university campus.

Reports are beginning to trickle in....900 high school students buried, oh my!

So glad you and all of the swallows are okay! I heard the news on NPR radio on the way home and wanted to cry when I heard a reporter describe a middle school that was demolished and so many students dead. My heart grieves for those parents. :(

So many children lost in the earthquake, it's just heartbreaking to watch the news. My heart aches and my prayers are with everyone affected by this terrible quake, especially those who lost their children. I'm relieved to know that all of you are OK. Take special care and hug all the babies just a little tighter for me tonight. Love, Valerie
