Pam In China

Adopting Parent/English Teacher/1st blog finding Xiao Qing

Tracey!!!

I met Tracey at a meeting with some other Chinese and foreigners, who want to open a school for the disabled children of Zhengzhou. She studies in Shanghai, her major being adult education for the disabled. She told me she wanted to come by Swallow's Nest and volunteer while she was in Zhengzhou visiting her mom for the Spring Festival.

She came by on Sunday afternoon. She actually found us without any problem. Her English is fantastic and her heart for children even more so. She spent four hours with Wu Mei and Miao Miao; tracing, drawing, coloring, teaching them to write their name in Chinese and having supper with us.

Miao Miao's delight at mastering the writing of her name was a sight to behold.

Pam,

Can MiaoMiao goto school? She is an incredible child to be so excited to learn to write. I am so happy that she has come to your care.

Both pics are truly candid. I love Miao Miao's pure delight and Wu Mei's sweet comfort. Great job capturing the moment. I always seem to miss it, by just a few seconds around here. I need a better camera with less delay! Kristy
