Scooter scooter everywhere, authentic ones are really rare

, , ,

A few months back the now famous Indian scooter brand bajaj announced that it has officially discontinued manufacturing its chetak brand of scooters. The reality however is that the production stopped two years ago and i don't know why the media is showing this now. Whatever might be the reason, but the bajaj scooters were very famous and were found on every nook and corner in india throughout the 80's and 90's. Although so widespread, its design was not as good as the original italian brand vespa from whom bajaj obtained a license to manufacture scooters in 60's. In 1972 when this license ended, bajaj manufactured its "own" scooters called Bajaj-150. These were just replicas of the vespa sprint scooter. The later chetaks were not as good as this model.Vespa later licensed LML to manufacture the vespa brand but this was not as successful as earlier. Recently me and my dad were searching some remote shops for obtaining the original designer handle of this Bajaj-150 scooter of 1972.But this model and its related spare parts are now antique and rare to find.
So if you own and old scooter (more then 20 year old) then dont sell it as scrap.Renovate
it
PS1: vespa sprint and bajaj-150 had only 3-speed gear box cool
PS2: The original vespa was designed by a team of 50 PhD scholars. bigeyes
PS3: Vespa brand owned by piaggio still manufactures state of the art Hi-tech scooters whistle

Ok its been a long time since i have looked at my blog.In fact i had forgotten the fact that i have a blog to worry about. Just found something very funny on some site. This is a poster for national Literacy day campaign in India. PS:Only for people who can read and understand hindi.[/ALIGN]

Angreji bollywood

It has become a habit to check any film's ratings on IMDB before watching it. Sometimes even when it is know that a film is very good, i casually look at imdb page to see what people have to say about the film. The interesting part is the quotes section which lists the famous or interesting lines from the movie. This section becomes even more fun to read if the film is a non-English film.
I was reading some quotes of hindi movies. The way people translate the hindi dialogs to English is funny.Check out these
  1. Deewar (1975) :Ravi( shashi kapoor): "Brother, whether you would do the sign or not?"
Vijay (amitabh bachchan): "Yes, I would do the sign, but I would not be the first one to do the sign, I wouldn't do it alone, go and bring the sign of that man who took the sign from my father, go and bring the sign of that man who stoned my mother and threw her out of the job, go and bring the sign of that man who had written this on my hand. After that! After that my brother the paper you would tell me I would do the sign on that paper."
  2. Sholay (1975) Gabbar Singh: "How many men were there?" yikes
    or what about this one

Thakur Baldev Singh: I'm putting you to some trouble, jailer.
Jailer: Not at all, sir. Just name it... whatever it be.
Thakur Baldev Singh: I need two men."
no (what kind of movie is that ?? )

    and who can forget

Gabbar Singh: Sons of bitches. They were two and you are three. Still you came back - empty handed. What were you thinking when you were coming back? Sardar will be happy and will give you a goodwill gesture? Shame on you!
  3. Don (1978)
Don: I am a wanted man by the police, but you must understand one simple fact... it is not difficult to catch Don, it is impossible!

PS1: The transaltions are not mine. Any grammar mistakes are due to the translators posting on IMDB pages dated 5/12/2009 whistle
Ps2: for more fun check out the quotes page other hit films of 70's like shaan, kaalia etc lol

About Asli and Naqli

  1. weinz ketchup is made with real tomatoes hand picked by our experts.
  2. fakme skin lotion contains the purity of real almonds, milk cream ...(so u mean it can be used in food )
  3. Paaza, the taste of real mangoes.( so others use synthetic mangoes )
  4. ..................
  5. .......

If all these brands use up real food items in thier products, then won't there
be a shortage of these items in market yikes

Who wrote this ???

Lately i've seen some profile descriptions and i found one that is really good looks as if the words came from within ones heart. It goes somewhat like this
I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to write; I like to think, I like to dream; I like to talk, I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night; I like to feel the music flowing on my face, I like to smell the wind coming from the Rain. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind, I like to do thought experiment when I cannot sleep in the middle of the night. I like flowers in spring, rain in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. I like to sleep Late, I like to get up late; I like to be surrounded by people. I like country’s peace, I like metropolis’ noise; I like delicious food and comfortable shoes; I like good books and romantic movies......

But..... who is the author of this piece ??
A google search shows many profiles from various networking sites, matrimonial sites and what not.
The top of the search results is Abdelrahman elhesky's profile from Community of sweden. I still don't know where or from which book or whose intro this thing is....
Any help from someone will be appreciated

Plotting Data on Linux

Many a times you are faced with a situation where you have some simulation data to be plotted. Most of the times people get away with such situations by making use of plot feature available in MS-Excel. while Linux still provides Open office, there are still more fancy softwares available for free. These provide lot more functionality like curve-fitting, analysis, statistical measurements and what not.One such package is LabPlot in KDE environment. It provides features like importing data from spreadsheets, or other file formats from simulations..There is also kst similar to Labplot albeit not with as much varied functionality. There is also the well known gnuplot which is not so easy to use ( no GUI ) but very powerful. These plotting tools can be used for plotting any type of data. One such use is to plot simulation data from measurement of HSPICE, NGSpice etc. With commands like sp2sp (provided by a waveform viwer called gwave) converting the spice simulation data to ascii data files is easy. Songbird ! the firefox of media players

Today i tried songbird, an open source media player from mozilla camp. This
one promises to be the next big thing in media players. With a lot of functionality,
simplicity and plenty of add-ons I am sure there is not getting bored of this player.
Features like display of wiki, discography and reviews about a track's artist and several
visually appealing skins ( called feathers ) stand out.Among the available add-ons, the
scrolling lyric was the best one. There are even add-ons for displaying the guitar tabs
of the track being played (possible only when you have a well organized media library bigsmile )
I tried this both on Win XP and Fedora 10 and there wasn't much difference except that
the fedora version seemed more streamlined with the OS ( or may be am biased towards linux )
All in all , i would say Songbird is the best media player out there right now.

I hate bollywood movies

These are the most common scenes/themes, which make me hate bollywood

1.Stories about NRIs living in US/UK and praising India (why dont they live in india if they love it so much [p] )
Pardes, DDLJ,KKKG,LKJ,MNOPQ and what not many movies under this category bigsmile

2.Thousands of people dancing for silly songs (mostly in a club or in some loaction in UK/US or even a good forign university campus)
Every other films theme song is the same now
3.Showing that Indians only means Punjabi (living in UK of course). hahaah a list is not required here
4.The hero , heroine and thier friends own houses that are way too grand compared (like palaces ) to their job profiles shown in movies.
5.Action movie means a lot of Smashing cars and playing with guns wearing black dresses with goggles (ok this has become way too stereo typical ) dhoom, race, etc. Mindless and boring action.
6.The ultimate point i think is wearing toooooo fashionable clothes that don't suit these so called actors.

(more to be added)
(this post will be updated with those typical pics too )
