Things about Mandriva, Linux & the rest of the world

NVidia Drivers 180.51, 180.53, 185.18.04 vs. previouse

Testing setup of Unigine:
Sanctuary demo benchmark edition v2.1

Shaders:high
Textures:high
Filter:trilinear
Anisotropy:16x
Translucence:enabled

Tropics Demo v1.1

Shaders:high
Textures:high
Filter:trilinear
Anisotropy:4x
Occlusion:disabled
Reflection:enabled

First chart is Sanctuary, second is Tropics
Personal Conclusion:
- there was a significant performance increase in graphics performance with the latest 3 drivers
- 180.51 Final and 180.53 Prerelease performed exactly identical
- in all tests, the brand new 185.18.04 Beta driver was the fastest, and it looks also stable enough for general use

could you also test with mandriva 2009.1 vs 2009.0, I think there was some performance regression

Yes, of course. I installed mdv2009.1 yesterday, but it's on 64bits...
I will do today or tomorrow some more tests. I'm curious too to see the difference. Also, it seems like Unigine has only 32bit versions, but it should work.

I'll be back soon with new test and additional information.
