Turning 39 for the first time

On Tuesday, the 30th, I turned 39.... for the first time.
Of course the first question anyone and everyone asks you is: "Do you feel any different?" Ummm... not really, dudes. Isn't this a rather silly question? "Do you feel any different?" Why would I feel different than I did the day before my birthday or even a few months before? Now, ask me if I feel different than 5 years ago... well YEAH! I'm a divorced, single father now as opposed to 5 years ago.
Another little pet peave of mine... Even my own family screws up my birthday sometimes. They think it's the 31st instead of the 30th. Ugh. Can we all update our calendars?
All in all it was a great birthday and I can't complain. Over the weekend my mom and I and the kids celebrated.
My girlfriend, Lane, made me an apple crumb pie. And then she made me dinner on Tuesday night for the real celebration.
And to top it all off.... ok, don't laugh.... we watched episode #1 of season #2 of Miami Vice. Yes, I now have Miami Vice seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. So sue me. I'm a child of the 80s and I loved that show.

What a silly question, "Do you feel any older?" Of COURSE you don't feel any older, you're only 39. Now NEXT year you'll understand why they ask.
Miami Mice rocks! Miss that music, too.
