Kimora Lee Simmons poses with some signature products from her new “Fabulosity” line, the latest launch in her scheme to take over the commercial world. Miami’s American Airlines Arena was packed with fans and industry professionals for a weekend-long event featuring two divalicious ladies in town to take part in the annual Market America Leadership Conference. Capitalizing on the ultimate launch opportunity, mama mogul Kimora Lee Simmons unveiled her new skincare line “Fabulosity” (available through marketamerica.com), featuring body butter, cleanser, sugar scrub and more. Killing two birds with one stone, Simmons was also on hand filming segments for an upcoming episode of Life In The Fab Lane while publicizing a new venture with Google underway (and then she announced her candidacy for 2012...). Simmons and her body butter weren’t the only stars who took center stage at the Market America showcase. Out of hiding, a polished Paulina Rubio performed hits in front of a crowd 23,000 strong in an effort to drive traffic from the Latino market. It’s too bad Tiger Woods wasn’t there promoting TW Design golf courses, then the conference would have been complete. -- Tracy Block

Alejandro Sanz opens his 2008 "El Tren de Los Momentos Tour" at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden Friday Night.

Sunshine for News

Sanz shows he still knows how to rock.
Six months ago, superstar Alejandro Sanz was so tired and stressed out that he canceled his New York concert.

But on Friday night, all that seemed a distant past, as a crowd that included A-list fans Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony packed the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden for the make-up show.

Despite the layoff and rough times, the 14-time Latin Grammy winner from Spain can still get the crowd on its feet. Sanz opened the show with the upbeat "Se Molestan," from his latest album, "El Tren de los Momentos."

The rock number served as a kick-off to a comeback concert that included the ballads that have made him famous and the cutting-edge experimental music that still makes him relevant.

But it is the old hits that remain the biggest crowd favorites, particularly the Caribbean-flavored "Corazón Partío" for which Anthony made a surprise appearance.

The East Harlem-born Anthony played backup singer and dancer to what seemed like a genuinely surprised Sanz. The stars finished their duet with a long embrace, and Anthony capped it by reverentially kneeling in front of Sanz.

The 39-year-old Sanz then dedicated his slow melodic piano solo, "¿Lo Ves?" to Anthony's wife, saying in Spanish: "To the most beautiful mother in the world, Jennifer Lopez. For you and your kids." The spotlight then shone on one of the balconies, where Lopez stood waving back.

But the couple - along with Mexican singer Paulina Rubio, who was sitting next to them - weren't the only fans to get Sanz's personal attention during the two-hour concert.

All night, female fans jumped onto the stage past security for a hug and kiss from the singer. The receptive Sanz just kept complying and smiling.

RUBIO'S LABEL DENY VISA SCANDAL
Movie & Entertainment News provided by World Entertainment News Network (www.wenn.com)
2007-11-22 18:06:22 -
LATEST: PAULINA RUBIO's record company has denied reports the singer's been refused U.S. residency due to drug use, insisting the Latina's move to Miami, Florida went ahead without any problems.
The 36-year-old and her husband Nicolas Vallejo-Nagera are alleged to have travelled to the U.S. consulate in Juarez, Mexico in September (07) to apply for their visa, and both underwent a medical exam at the International Medical Clinic as part of the process.
According to Mexican newspaper El Diario de Chihuahua, the couple's tests came back positive for marijuana use, while Vallejo-Nagera's also showed results for ecstasy and cocaine - resulting in the rejection of their visa application.
But Rubio's label, Universal, has disputed the media reports, telling PeopleEnEspanol.com, "Contrary to what is being reported, Paulina Rubio and her husband, Nicholas Vallejo-Nágera, go about their normal lives in the United States and may enter and leave the country freely."

The Hot Mess: Every country's got one

Australia: Ben Cousins. The sexy footballer has been splashed all over the Aussie tabs this year for very public drug use - and for keeping the company of some very young ladies.

Vietnam: Hoang Thuy Linh. The actress was recently canned from a popular teenage soap opera after she appeared in an amateur sex video that was splashed online.

First-Ever Winners of ‘Mi TRL Awards’ Announced

New York, NY--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--December 15, 2007--Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Adrienne Bailon, George Lopez, Wisin y Yandel, RBD and Aventura were the big winners of “The 1st Annual Mi TRL Awards” (http://www.mtvtr3s.com/mitrl/awards/) presented by MTV Tr3s on Saturday, December 15th. Hosted by VJs Carlos Santos and Karli Henriquez, the awards show recognized and honored the people and music that make “Mi TRL” the "must watch" show for U.S. Latinos. It was packed with some of today's hottest artists performing, accepting and presenting awards, along with a surprise and rare public appearance by Diddy who opened the show to the delight of the fans who attended the awards show.

Live performances by Mexican pop sensation RBD, whose new album “Empezar Desde Cero” just debuted in the #1 slot on the Latin music charts and Wisin y Yandel, one of today’s biggest selling reggaeton artists who performed “Ahora Es” from their chart-topping album “Los Extraterrestres” brought down the house.

GRAMMY

And the nominees for the Latin Grammys 2007 are NOT...
Paulina Rubio: The Mexican pop star's duet with Miguel Bose in "Nena" received a nod for Record of the Year. Producer Cachorro Lopez was also nominated for his work on Rubio's latest album, "Ananda." The album even scored three MTV Latin award nominations, but was ignored through-and-through by the Grammy jury.

"Paulina's is a major snub," said Leila Cobo, who covers the Latin music industry for Billboard magazine. "To have Cachorro nominated... and her song with Miguel Bose in the list, but not being in the Female Pop. I think it was a low blow."
