I hope people take your advice and get the info....I recently saw a survey conducted during the campaign and done by a college polling group of 600 people between the ages of 18-35 (496 of which were newly registered votes) asking if they could name any of the rights guaranteed by the first and second amendment. 59% answered in some sort of way that:
The First Amendment says Churches can't involved themselves in politics
The Second Amendment states that the only the army can have guns.

Only 2% could state a somewhat correct answer and the rest (39%) got both wrong.

Scary ain't it!

I got mine in the mail a few weeks ago!

It's going to look funny reprinted in Cyrillic in 2014.
This is what the elite PNAC want on their way to a World Govt., or so they think.
They're that removed from reality they'll extinct the planet and think nothing of it.

The Constitution, no matter who the President is, liberal or conservative... will always be the Constitution. Your right to bear arms are NOT being infringed upon, CALM DOWN FOR PETE'S SAKE!

Like I've said before, you can EASILY be a conservative without being a right-wing nut job.

53north 12. November 2008, 18:47

But you can't get into the US Gov unless you're 'right wing'
..and Obama starts off in exactly the same direction..
http://lwtc247.wordpress.com/2008/11/06/the-first-of-obama-changes-is-to-keep-everything-the-same/

hondo7 12. November 2008, 19:14

Let's also have a tiny look at those words 'right wing'. Isn't it interesting that the party of Lincoln is the Republican party? Isn't it also interesting is that the 'right wing' in the Republican party of Lincoln's time sounded awfully democratic?

Obama was being misleading when he denied that his handwriting had been on a document endorsing a state ban on the sale and possession of handguns in Illinois. Obama responded, "No, my writing wasn't on that particular questionnaire. As I said, I have never favored an all-out ban on handguns."

Actually, Obama's writing was on the 1996 document, which was filed when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate. A Chicago nonprofit, Independent Voters of Illinois, had this question, and Obama took hard line:

35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.

53north 12. November 2008, 20:19

He was brought up in Chicago. =o>
hmm, telling porkies already?
I've got a feeling his youthful naievity could sink us all if they decide a limited nuclear exchange with the Russians would 'cleanse' Europe. Several burning radioactive urban areas would spell extinction.

hondo7 12. November 2008, 20:25

Wow. You're reaching. Well, for one thing there's nothing to really get into until Inauguration Day...January 20th, 2009! So, I'm guessing that you really don't have anything to really talk about until then except for a proposed state document banning handguns in Illinois in 1996. Let's get realistic here for just a millisecond. THAT WAS 12 YEARS AGO!!

See what I'm saying? Not only are we bordering on the verge of lunatic fringe thinking, but there's also a hint of short-sided thinking mixed in with a pinch and a dash of self-righteous fundamentalism. To put it in perspective for you... there's this swingin party and everyone's having a good time. Bongs everywhere, everyone's doin lines off of strippers' stomach, I mean this party is OFF THE HOOK!!! And then someone yells out, "Alright! Who's up for a zany game of Pin the Tail On the Donkey?!?!? YEAH!!!". Buzzkill city, guys. Enough with the sour grapes already. I promise you that if your 2nd amendment rights get violated, I'll fly out to wherever you're at and kiss your rear personally

The naivete' of Obama? What about naivete' of Sarah Palin?! She actually thinks that she could hold up to the scrutiny of "the liberal, east-coast media" of the Lower 48 & thought that she had what it took to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency! That's guillibility AND balls rolled up into one. And speaking of Russians, since she's just so damned close to them and "Putin rearing his ugly head" - Medvedev and I still think that's priceless! Maybe she'll visit the City of Lights and ask for President Mitterand - maybe it's Palin and her secessionist husband we should worry about. Collusion has strange bedfellows.

53north 12. November 2008, 22:15

Is what I was sayin.
The elite are all one group who think they can get away with a cosi nuke war because they've got their places booked in the bunkers & subterranean cities.
Is how the Yeti got to be where and what it is today. =o}

ripp2002 13. November 2008, 05:29

I received mine in the mail last week; and Quiddo, thanks again for recommending it.

ellinidata 20. November 2008, 02:00

do you know that I had to read the whole thing before I became an American citizen??
some times I feel that Americans have it easy, they have no idea of Social Studies and they many times don't even know the original 13 states...forget all the 50 states...
thanks for the tip Paula,
a love freebies

ripp2002 20. November 2008, 07:49

:eyes: Social studies is a requirement for like 100 years or something in elementary, middle school, and high school.

 I do agree with you about not knowing shit... I am trying though. You mentioned there were 50 states? Homer: Doh! I always get that one wrong.

ellinidata 20. November 2008, 12:42

the first step its
willing to know,
I hope Americans that have an opinion on everything do know the difference in time btwn East Coast and West Coast ...
I have such a kick watching Jay Leno asking everyday citizens
simple questions like:
"who is pictured on a ten dollar bill??"
most of them don't even know after they reach in their pocket and stare at it!

yes,
I know I shouldn't be harsh,
these days having 10 dollars in ones pocket is enough excitement!

Phantom2 20. November 2008, 14:59

I thought our new President said there was 57 states? Homer: Doh!

hondo7 20. November 2008, 15:53

Oh, let's not play the social studies teacher thing TOO hard, Phantom. If I'm not mistaken, George W. Bush could make a coherent senetence for all the tea in China. Obama being 7 states off is the least of our worries. Recognize.

Phantom2 20. November 2008, 16:14

The tit for tat thing is so school yard....

ripp2002 20. November 2008, 18:51

TITTIES? I see no titties :left: :right: Homer: Doh! did I miss the titties?

where did the titties go?

Homer: Doh!

ellinidata 20. November 2008, 18:52

one thing its for sure,
if Clinton makes thousands of dollars by giving speeches abroad,

when G.W.Bush's term it's over I don't think he can make a single penny out of one single lecture !

I hear he is considering of writing a book but
so far he said his favorite book was "the hungry caterpillar",
I feel sorry for the writer that might be hired to help him !!!

ripp2002 20. November 2008, 18:57

I will buy his book. Might be worth a lot of money one day. Since I might own the only copy...

hondo7 20. November 2008, 19:39

I just had lunch, I got some classic college football on the tube, titties would really go good right now

ellinidata 21. November 2008, 02:46

@Ripp,
I am sure he will write the book!
and I also believe he will sell more than a copy...we all want to understand why he gave up so early on his dream of being the President.
