Tickets to the Gun Show

, , ,

I have a challenge for y'all--here's a website:

http://hundredpushups.com/

Basically, it's a six week training program to condition you to do 100 consecutive push-ups. I'm not gonna lie...I'm doing the girly ones the first 6 weeks, then I'm starting over with the "real" ones  I'm currently on week 3--so far, so good. It only takes like 5-10 minutes a session, so there's no real excuse not to try it--unless of course, you're a :cat: !

Let me know if you're in!

You know, I might actually try that. :left: :right: It'd *really* help with yoga.

since bone loss starts at 25 and muscle loss at 40 it is a must for every single person that wants a long and a healthy life
Good for you Paula, go for it! 3 weeks and counting! that's the spirit.
a firm butt is always an asset

I do Yoga and Pilates all week and TaiChi on Saturdays

even my cat does push ups :

that kitten is cute and disturbing, all @ the same time. oh, and i love doing pilates, too! Always wanted to try yoga--haven't gotten around to it yet. Running's keeping me busy lately, but gotta get the arms ready for tank-top season! woo hoo...can't wait for warm weather!

Angeliki 19. February 2009, 04:31

my arms are ready
my Greek butt is not! p:

you are running after two young ones ,I am sure that is some exercise too! mine are teens and I am sleep deprived

pauliticalmind 19. February 2009, 14:45

yes, my babies keep me busy indeed! they never seem to run out of energy.

:hat:

Nathan Ellis 19. February 2009, 17:39

haha - I laughed at the last emoticon-innuendo.

I'm not gonna lie though - didn't know how to spell "innuendo," spellcheck helped me out.

pauliticalmind 19. February 2009, 18:55

:D nathan. spell check is your friend!

Piloti 20. February 2009, 17:38

So, I'm in. But, other than the occasional yoga comment, is anyone here actually going to do it ?
Me thinks some sort of record would work a treat.
Thoughts ?

Casey² 20. February 2009, 19:47

I'm in. They have a logger on the website that you can use.

pauliticalmind 20. February 2009, 20:09

hmmm...y'all could record your weekly totals here, if you like. or post some progress pics of your newfound muscles :D just make sure you're doing them properly--hands directly below or SLIGHTLY wider than shoulders (no more than and inch or 2 wider!!!) The wider your arm stance, the easier they are--not to mention the different muscle group you'll be targeting (chest instead of arms). good luck!

Casey² 20. February 2009, 23:31

I've determined that it's way easier to do them without the dog around. Bear seems to think that licking my face and pawing the top of my head is a real motivator for me.

pauliticalmind 20. February 2009, 23:33

lol! my dog does the same thing! i can't do anything on the floor if he's in the same room. he tries to lick me and sit on me like I'm some kind of toy or something. damn dogs

Casey² 20. February 2009, 23:36

 Thankfully mine is small. I might have to start locking the little bugger in another room though.

Piloti 21. February 2009, 12:31

I'm in. This will make up for the skiing that I am missing right now. So, we're on.....

camaross 22. February 2009, 01:24

lets do this like brutus

Piloti 22. February 2009, 12:13

Et tu, Bruté?

Vernon L. Townsend 23. February 2009, 20:53

Well, I walk and walk each and every day..I will try to include this as well..My daily walk takes me 7 to 13 miles up and down hills. Let me know ifyou're in the area and, you can tag along..lol
Great idea~!! keep it up~

Piloti 24. February 2009, 08:38

Sadly, I am not in the area....
I am on a quick stint back in the UK and then , when my visa comes through, I will be heading off again.

I have started the 100 Press up thing, and will be keeping it up through the six week programme.....

I am in Group 2, which is not surprising. All my excerices is lower body stuff and lots of CV, hiking, mountain biking, running, those things. Never really been into 'carpet bagging' but, hey, why not give it a shout!

pauliticalmind 6. March 2009, 14:26

camaross 6. March 2009, 14:43

pauliticalmind 6. March 2009, 14:45

shut up...in a row? i actually started over b/c my husband said my "form isn't right" :irked:

so i'm on week 3 AGAIN, and judging by the soreness, I'm guessing he was right. I can do 25 in a row. I'm weak...don't judge :D

camaross 6. March 2009, 14:47

nice beenlifting weights also u got me in this healthy kick what can i say

pauliticalmind 6. March 2009, 14:51

good for you! i'm officially hooked on running. i've always hated it, but alas, the running bug has bitten me, and now I can't stop. glad it's getting warmer so i can get off the boring treadmill and hit the road! weights are a summer thing for me. our "house of pain" as we call it, is in an old poolhouse behind our house. it gets a tad chilly out there in the winter! :eyes:

Casey² 6. March 2009, 15:12

I'm still on it. I'm almost done with week three. I forgot to do the exhaustion test before starting week two, so this might be interesting.

pauliticalmind 6. March 2009, 15:20

Homer: Doh! good luck!

Casey² 6. March 2009, 15:21

 Thanks! Good luck to you as well.
