R.I.P. Sandy Cat

, ,

This past Saturday, I found my 3-year-old kitty, Sandy, curled up in his box. I thought he was sleeping at first, until I called him and he didn't move. The vet said it could have been heart disease, a clogged ureter, some sort of blockage...we'll never know. He was a best friend to all of us, including the dog, and he is greatly missed!

Here he is showing the puppy who's boss, watching the birds, getting caught, and posing for his momma:
 and miss you Sandy!!!

Very sad! I can't even imagine life without my cat now.

:frown: sorry for your loss Paula

Thanks guys, I never would have thought that we'd lose him at such a young age. Guess I'm still in shock :frown: Even our rottweiler is moping around

nice photos

That's so sad! :frown: I'm sorry to hear that he's gone. :frown:

Nice photos, how old he was? :frown:
It's "common" for males to have a clogged ureter... hope it's not that.

He was 3, and it bothers me that I don't know how he died. I suppose I could have taken him in for an autopsy, but that is just kinda weird--what do they do give him a cat scan?

Anyways, he never acted sick or like he was in pain. We had no reason to suspect anything was wrong. Just totally bizarre.

martinouellette 13. May 2009, 02:53

Well, somehow it's useless anyway. :frown: It won't change a thing now.

Get a new kitten right away! :cat:

we're getting one in July after vacation...i think.

Sandy, don't often see that colouring. I know white and ginger aren't the healthiest of cats re. genes..
Shame he was so young.

Dudley 27. May 2009, 23:21

Sorry to hear that. It's hard losing a pet that soon becomes one of the family.

Ravo 28. May 2009, 00:11

I'm so sorry for your loss, Paula. If you want one of my kittens, I'm sure we can figure out how to get it to you....
It will be house trained, but will need its shots and neutering.

pauliticalmind 28. May 2009, 01:53

So true, Dudley--thanks for the condolences

And thanks Ravo for the offer. I would love to take one off your hands, but I know our local shelter is over-run with kitties, so I think we'll be making a trip down there sometime in the next few months. You should have no problem finding homes for those little cuties! :cat:

I can't believe the dog got up on the table! Was Sandy a bad influence? Go the cat!

pauliticalmind 22. September 2009, 13:45

I'm not sure which was the bad influence--both were equally rambunctious! :D

The dog was chasing the cat--Sandy thought he had outsmarted Roman by jumping on the table. Little did he know, the pup would follow!
